Rosalinda
Rosalinda is a key ally in Battle Tendency and Stardust Crusaders and a supporting ally in Diamond is Unbreakable. A hamon prodigy raised and trained by Lisa Lisa to take over the duty of protecting the Red Stone of Aja, Rosalinda assists Lisa Lisa with training Joseph Joestar and Caesar Antonio Zeppeli and performs research on the Pillar Men and origins of the Red Stone to aid in the hamon users’ battle against them. She later becomes the wife of Joseph Joestar and mother of Holly Joestar Kujo and Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Joestar.
AppearanceRosalinda is a petite woman with a fair complexion. Sophisticated and elegant, she has bright green eyes and a round face framed by two strands of hair that curl into her cheeks and lips noted to be distinctly heart-shaped. She has pink hair typically styled into two flower-shaped buns fastened in place with golden pins and bangs styled into a long curl. Rosalinda has a variety of outfits as listed below:
PersonalityRosalinda is an intelligent and analytical young woman with an affinity for research and languages (as shown in her personal notes regarding the Pillar Men, which she translates from Italian to English for Joseph.) She is noted to deeply dislike uncertainty and is prone to worrying about hypotheticals. Thus, she seeks to have as much knowledge and capability on hand as possible, manifesting as an intense dedication to studying historical and geological records for any information about the Pillar Men and the training of her hamon abilities. Pragmatic and serious, Rosalinda will do whatever it takes to achieve her goals. She is noted for being somewhat controlling. Despite the hardships of her childhood, Rosalinda has a compassionate heart and cares deeply about the people she is close to, though she is wary of getting to know new people. Her greatest fear is losing the people she has in her life now, and she states that she could not stand the loss of anyone else. Fiercely protective and nurturing, she is a devoted ally to her comrades and partner. She is known in Venice for particular empathy to orphans; having been orphaned herself, Rosalinda donates half of the earnings from her farmstand in Venice to an orphanage and to Caesar’s siblings back in Rome BiographyBackgroundIn the time of the Roman Empire, Kars travelled to Europe along with his compatriots, Esidisi, Wammu, and Duran Duran, leaving Santana behind in Mesoamerica. Each Pillar Man was assigned a region to search for leads on the stone in: outlying islands (Iceland, Greenland, and the British Isles), Scandinavia, the North European Plain (settled by various tribes at the time), the Western Mediterranean, and the Eastern Mediterranean. The Pillar Man, Duran Duran, was assigned to the Western Mediterranean region and quickly obtains a lead that the stone is in possession of the Roman Emperor. Seeing an opportunity to get the stone for himself, Duran Duran ingratiates himself to the Roman populace, positioning himself as a demigod with his own power and that of the stone mask he has. He quickly moves towards Rome before being forced into hibernation by hamon warriors who have realized that he is not a benevolent demigod granting immortality but a cruel devil. His stone form is that of a marble statue. Kars, Esidisi, and Wammu, not finding their own leads, converge on the Roman Empire themselves where they reunite. Duran Duran’s knowledge of the stone’s whereabouts and deception becomes apparent to them and, with Duran Duran being believed to be a demigod, it is easy for Kars and his group to take up the mantle of malevolent being and subjugate the Romans in pursuit of the Red Stone before they are ultimately forced into hibernation beneath the Colosseum. Early LifeRosalinda was born October 1, 1918 in Padua, Italy to parents Dante Di Pietrarossa and Livia Di Pietrarossa, hamon users and Pillar Man researchers along with Mario Zeppeli. Mario later introduces Rosalinda's parents, fellow hamon users and researchers looking into the Pillar Men, to Lisa Lisa, who he met via Robert E.O. Speedwagon's introduction. On one trip to Rome without Dante and Livia with them, Mario and Lisa Lisa discuss the Red Stone in Lisa Lisa's possession in front of the Pillar Men. Lisa Lisa, paranoid that they have heard that the stone is with her and with their awakening drawing closer, entrusts the stone to Rosalinda's parents for safekeeping. . Rosalinda’s early years were peaceful and happy, and she grew up learning to use hamon to heal from her parents. When Rosalinda was seven, her parents were killed by Pillar Man, Duran Duran, who is able to track the stone to the Di Pietrarossas. Dante and Livia are able to hide their daughter away with the Red Stone and successfully kill Duran Duran, but they succumb to their injuries and perish. Rosalinda is found by Loggs and Messina and taken to Air Supply Island, where she becomes the ward of Lisa Lisa and is trained by her to become the next guardian of the stone. The next thirteen years of Rosalinda’s life are spent on Air Supply Island dedicated to training her skill. Battle TendencyRosalinda and Caesar are sent to Rome at Lisa Lisa’s behest to collect Joseph from Speedwagon and to show him the Pillar Men. Caesar and Joseph immediately get into a fight, which Rosalinda diffuses by reminding Caesar that a public street is not the place to make a scene and the men can fight later. Joseph becomes instantly smitten with Rosalinda, notably finding her beautiful and delighted that she has chastised Caesar. Upon entrance into the catacombs in Rome and the discovery of the dead bodies, Rosalinda is distraught to see the Pillar Men have awakened. However, she compartmentalizes her distress when Caesar implores her to heal Mark with her hamon. While ultimately unsuccessful, she is able to reconstruct Mark nearly down his torso before he ultimately succumbs to his injuries. Initially skeptical and disgusted at Joseph’s perceived unseriousness with the situation, Rosalinda prepares to step in and defend Caesar and Speedwagon, but Joseph stops her, determined to handle it. When Joseph successfully draws Wammu away from her, Caesar, and Speedwagon, Rosalinda, though horrified by his recklessness, is deeply moved by Joseph’s determination to give them the opportunity to escape. She resolves to help him train his hamon to defeat the Pillar Men, believing he received the rings in part because of them. Air Supply Island Arc After seeing Speedwagon off, Rosalinda and Caesar return to Venice with Joseph in tow and find Lisa Lisa who tests Joseph’s hamon in disguise and accepts him as a student. On Air Supply Island, Lisa Lisa immediately assigns Joseph and Caesar to complete the Hell Climb Pillar test and instructs Rosalinda to act as a proctor. Rosalinda spends the next 72 hours supervising the test and is astounded with Joseph’s ingenuity at skating along the oil to propel himself to the top of the tower. When Joseph is fascinated by Rosalinda’s ability to grow plants and manipulate their characteristics with hamon, Rosalinda offers to tutor him, an offer Joseph jumps at believing it will further his relationship with Rosalinda (and choosing to view their meetings as dates.) When Lisa Lisa decides that it is time for Joseph and Caesar to undergo their exams and face off against Loggs and Messina, Rosalinda is worried that Joseph won’t take the assignment seriously as a barometer to gauge how well he will fare against the Pillar Men. Joseph declares he will pass and seizes the opportunity to make a gamble with her: if he passes, Rosalinda will agree to be his girlfriend. Smitten with him, Rosalinda agrees to this bet. Upon Joseph’s successful completion of his exam (though versus Esidisi unbeknownst to Rosalinda), he seeks her out and the two officially become a couple. The pair are called by Suzie Q to debrief Lisa Lisa, though beforehand Caesar accidentally reveals that Loggs has died and Joseph actually won against Esidisi. This news deeply distresses Rosalinda, and she takes a moment to compose herself, sending Joseph and Caesar ahead of her. During this time, she sees Suzie Q with a package at the docks. Once she collects herself, Rosalinda returns to Joseph and Caesar and upon entering Lisa Lisa’s room, she is startled to see Suzie Q is already there. Rosalinda points out that it’s impossible for Suzie Q to have gotten to Lisa Lisa so quickly, as she just saw her outside and there is only one route to Lisa Lisa’s room. It is quickly revealed that Esidisi’s brain has possessed Suzie Q, and with his cover blown, he attacks Rosalinda, who attempts to leave to follow the mail boat per Lisa Lisa’s instructions. Though she is able to successfully push him back, she is unable to land a finishing blow in fear she’d end up killing the civilian Suzie Q. Joseph and Caesar successfully repel Esidisi from Suzie Q’s body with the positive and negative hamon. Upon Esidisi’s demise, Joseph gives Rosalinda Esidisi’s ring, stating that it’s proof that he successfully avenged Loggs’ death. Switzerland Arc With the destination of the stone determined to be St. Moritz, Switzerland, Rosalinda goes with the group in pursuit of the stone, healing Suzie Q’s injuries before they leave (as Joseph heckles Rosalinda for her attention). Rosalinda is stunned when she sees Kars face to face for the first time when he attempts to capture the stone, but hardly has time to process it when Joseph falls off the cliff. Though Joseph catches himself with the icicles, she offers a stronger hamon-infused vine for him to be pulled up with instead. After Caesar and Joseph’s fight, Rosalinda decides to pursue Caesar in an effort to prevent him from fighting Wammu. Though ultimately unsuccessful at convincing him, she decides she must help Caesar fight Wammu, as it is too dangerous alone and she does not want Caesar’s siblings to grieve another loss (nor does she want to either). After Wammu propels himself into the hotel, Caesar pushes Rosalinda back, insisting that this is a battle between men and he will handle it, as he does not want a woman getting hurt on his behalf. Unable to enter the hotel despite her best efforts, Rosalinda is relieved when Lisa Lisa and Joseph approach the hotel and fills them in on what has transpired thus far. Upon discovering that Caesar is dead, Rosalinda is bereft and angry at another person being taken from her by them. Lisa Lisa instructs Rosalinda to return to the hotel, retrieve the stone, and flee, an idea Rosalinda balks at, stating she has a stake in the fight as well. Lisa Lisa stops her, declaring that Rosalinda was raised and mentored to take on the task of protecting the stone and that combatting the Pillar Men was not her responsibility. She urges Rosalinda to accept her duty to protect the stone and leave the Pillar Men to her and Joseph, with her having a duty as leader of the hamon warriors and Joseph with his personal vow to fight Wammu. Rosalinda begrudgingly agrees to assume the task of protecting the stone but asks that they not abandon Caesar or forget his sacrifice. She collects what remains of Caesar she is able to in order to have them properly buried and leaves to retrieve the stone and flee. Joseph and Lisa Lisa meanwhile head to where Kars and Wammu await them. Lisa Lisa states the stone is long gone by now, but Kars says it’s no matter; he has 200 vampires who can easily find and kill the hamon user with the stone or tell him where she might be. Caught between the red stone and a hard place and not wanting to put Rosalinda in danger as well, Lisa Lisa agrees to Kars’ demand the stone be retrieved and sends Joseph to do so, staying behind as collateral. Joseph intercepts Rosalinda at the hotel as she is preparing to leave and tells her what is going on, and when Rosalinda opens Lisa Lisa’s suitcase (which she was going to take home) to retrieve the stone, Joseph spots the photo with Erina, Speedwagon, and Straizo and asks her about it. Rosalinda tells him what she knows but states it’s Lisa Lisa’s story to share so he should ask her. She wants to return with Joseph, but he tells her the terms of the battle have already been decided there’s no need for her to protect the stone anymore since it’s a battle now to decide who gets it. Joseph tells Rosalinda to take care of Caesar and wait for him in Venice, which she agrees to do. After Joseph’s victory against Kars, Speedwagon returns to Venice with the injured Lisa Lisa. When asked about Joseph’s whereabouts, Speedwagon admits Joseph is presumed dead after falling into the ocean, an idea Rosalinda rebukes, stating that Joseph could have survived by using hamon and positing that even if he is dead, his body should be retrieved for a proper burial. Speedwagon, moved by her faith in Joseph, agrees to coordinate a search party, which successfully finds Joseph alive and brings him to Air Supply Island to be returned to health. Rosalinda and Speedwagon are at his bedside when Joseph awakens. When Rosalinda leaves the room, Speedwagon informs Joseph that everyone believed Joseph to be dead except Rosalinda and states that Joseph shouldn’t lose her. Emboldened, Joseph proposes to Rosalinda with Wammu’s ring, which she accepts. The pair marry before returning to America with Speedwagon and Lisa Lisa, and meet Erina and Smokey at the docks. Post-Battle TendencyJoseph and Rosalinda enjoy a happy and prosperous marriage, living with Erina until Rosalinda becomes pregnant with Holly, by which point the couple move into their own apartment. Holly is born on December 21, 1943 and Giuseppe on August 22, 1946. Joseph founds his successful realty business, Joestar Realty, while Rosalinda is employed by the Speedwagon Foundation to assist with tracking down the remaining stone masks and any Pillar Men. Upon the births of her children, she elects to stay at home until they are both school-aged before rejoining the Foundation as a researcher in the supernatural research department. Though she is once again working on hamon-related endeavors, this is where Rosalinda first hears about stands and other supernatural phenomena related to them. While staying home with her children, Rosalinda notices Beppe has a talent for hamon and nurtures his skill. Stardust CrusadersCanon Version Rosalinda has no stand, but is aware Joseph has one (as he boisterously announces to her) and is able to see it when he wraps Hermit Purple in hamon. Thus, she is not confounded when she and Joseph receive a call from their daughter, Holly, stating Jotaro is claiming he has an evil spirit following him and is in jail. Along with Joseph and Avdol, Rosalinda heads to Japan to free Jotaro and see her beloved daughter. When Holly falls ill, Rosalinda initially stays in Japan to work with the doctors in hopes there is some way to heal her without heading to Egypt. When it becomes clear that the SPW can only delay and not heal, Rosalinda resolves that she must save her daughter (having already lost Guiseppe and desperate not to lose their other child) and join up with her husband and grandson to defeat DIO. Initially, she is not particularly welcome to the group, lacking a stand to participate in many of their battles, but her dogged determination to save her daughter and intense scholarly background on stands makes her a key member of the group. While trekking in Egypt, the group discovers the stand arrows, one of which pierces Rosalinda and allows her to manifest her stand, [NAME] which allows her to transfer injuries from one party to another, acting a healer for the group. She keeps the stand arrow to research its abilities, eventually passing it down to Jotaro, which becomes the arrow that pierces Jolyne, manifesting Stone Free. The group successfully defeats DIO and saves Holly. Beppe Lives Version Rosalinda accompanies Joseph and Avdol to Japan to meet with Jotaro and Holly, but this time, Beppe accompanies the Crusaders to Egypt, determined to help his sister (whom he regards as weak). Beppe himself has manifested his stand Dancing With Myself which allows him to swap a target’s body parts with his own and control them. Rosalinda thus stays behind in Japan to take care of her daughter and keep the Crusaders updated on her condition. After the group leaves Japan, Rosalinda receives word that Beppe’s son, Josuke, has been checked into a hospital with a high fever and in a comatose state. Realising Josuke is also suffering from the same stand related illness as Holly, Rosalinda contacts the Crusaders to inform them of Josuke’s condition and coordinates for SPW doctors to take care of Josuke, splitting her time between Holly’s and Josuke’s bedsides. Beppe is shocked that Josuke has fallen ill, believing he would manifest his stand with ease like Beppe himself as a Joestar man. Upon Dio’s defeat, Holly and Josuke both recover. Beppe is delighted to find Josuke has manifested the stand (though at the time unnamed) Crazy Diamond, believing this is proof that Josuke does have the strong Joestar spirit after all and that he’s done his duty as a father and a doctor to heal the ill boy. After teaching his son briefly about stands and impressing on him that they’re manifestations of the spirit (a proud fighting Joestar spirit,) Beppe is satisfied that his son will grow up to be a Strong Joestar Man and determines to resume his career and lifestyle as a doctor in New York City. Josuke is hurt and cannot understand why his father did not immediately come back to Japan to be with him and his mother while he was on death’s door, though he is excited to spend extended time with his father upon his recovery. Their relationship deteriorates when Beppe’s visits become less and less frequent over the years. Diamond is UnbreakableCanon Version Beppe is the father of Josuke, having sired him after a brief fling with Tomoko during one of his trips with the SPW. While on a disaster medicine mission with the SPW, Beppe dies before he notifies his family about Tomoko’s pregnancy. Unable to contact the Joestars, Tomoko resolves to raise Josuke alone, but lists Beppe as his father on the family registry. Years pass and the Joestars receive a call that changes their lives - their daughter, Holly, calls and says she’s just spoken to a man named Ryohei* who told her that his grandson, Josuke, is the son of her brother, Beppe and has shown her the koseki as proof. She further states that Ryohei wanted the message relayed to Beppe’s family and that he was looking for assurance from the Joestars/Kujos that Tomoko and Josuke be taken care of after his death, and that he was taking care of estate planning now that he was getting ready to retire. Rosalinda and Joseph are surprised yet delighted by the news and decide to go to Japan to meet the boy and ask Jotaro (and Holly) to meet them there. Curious as to what Josuke looks like, Joseph attempts to use his stand to take a photo of Josuke but is shown the Angelo photos. *Ryohei learned of Holly from Tomoko. As Holly and Beppe were close, Beppe spoke of her often, mentioning that she lived in Japan. When Tomoko reads an article about Sadao Kujo and his American-born wife Holly, she wonders if this may be Beppe’s sister and mentions it to her father. Beppe Lives Version Josuke has grown up most of his life without the attention of his father, who visits infrequently and continues to live a bachelor-esque lifestyle. He is, however, doted on immensely by his grandparents in Beppe’s stead. Upon the spirit photos showing Angelo being taken, Joseph and Rosalinda endeavor to come to Morioh to protect their grandson over Jotaro’s objections. After the battle with Kira leading to him changing his identity, Jotaro calls the SPW and requests Guiseppe come join the mission to capture Kira. Josuke is dismayed by this, but Rosalinda is happy to see her son and hopeful that the forced proximity will improve his and Josuke’s estranged relationship. RelationshipsThe following are key relationships Rosalinda has listed by part: Joseph JoestarInitially put off by Joseph’s carefree attitude and unserious approach to the situation with the Pillar Men, Rosalinda is not impressed with Joseph at initial meeting. However, after he successfully draws the Pillar Men’s attention in order to allow her, Caesar, and Speedwagon to escape, Rosalinda comes to see that Joseph, despite his arrogance, is deeply caring and protective and determines to aid him in his hamon training since he received the rings during his attempt to protect the group. Rosalinda supervises the Hell Pillar Climb for Joseph and Caesar and is deeply impressed by the ingenuity Joseph shows when he skates along the oil and is able to propel himself to the top, praising him as clever which he deeply appreciates. Upon his interest in her ability to grow plants with hamon, Rosalinda offers to tutor Joseph in additional applications of the ability, bringing them even closer. Rosalinda has fallen for Joseph by the time he proposes that they should go steady if he defeats Loggs during his test. She agrees to this and upon his completion of the test (though done by defeating the Pillar Man Esidisi), Joseph and Rosalinda become a couple. After definitively destroying Esidisi’s brain, Joseph gifts Rosalinda the first ring from the Pillar Men for safekeeping and as a sign of having avenged Loggs’ death for her. Before heading to Switzerland, Joseph desires Rosalinda’s attention and thinks about how since becoming a couple they haven’t had a chance to be alone or kiss. He tells Suzie Q that she is monopolising all of Rosalinda’s time, bemoans how he cannot have Rosalinda sit on his lap during the car ride, and annoys Rosalinda by touching her hair, believing any attention from her is good attention. During the car ride to Switzerland, Joseph is worried when he sees Rosalinda looking nauseated, but is deeply touched when she tells him that she has been translating her research on the Pillar Men into English for him from her native Italian. When Joseph catches up with Rosalinda to retrieve the stone from her per Lisa Lisa’s instructions, he tells her to wait for him in Venice and that he’ll definitely come back for her. Upon Kars’ defeat, Speedwagon arrives in Venice at Lisa Lisa’s behest to inform Rosalinda of what had transpired. When asked about Joseph’s whereabouts, Speedwagon admits Joseph is likely dead and his body unrecoverable. Rosalinda urges Speedwagon to try, stating that there are ways Joseph could have survived with hamon, and that even if he has died, his body should be retrieved for a proper burial. Inspired by her faith in Joseph and recalling how Joseph traveled to Speedwagon despite not knowing if he was alive, Speedwagon agrees to hire a search party to search for him. Joseph is found alive after several days and admitted to hospital, eventually awakening to see Rosalinda and Speedwagon by his side. Speedwagon admits to Joseph that all had believed he perished except Rosalinda and instructs that Joseph should not let her go. This deeply touches Joseph and emboldens him to demand Rosalinda’s hand in marriage as a reward for defeating Kars, using Wammu’s ring as an engagement ring. Rosalinda accepts his proposal and the pair are wed before returning to the United States to begin their new life together. Rosalinda and Joseph enjoy a happy, devoted, and prosperous marriage. The pair have two children: Holly Joestar Kujo and Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Joestar. Lisa LisaLisa Lisa became Rosalinda’s guardian and hamon master, raising her after the deaths of her parents. Brought to her by Loggs and Messina after Dante and Livia were found dead, Loggs urges Lisa Lisa to train the girl in hamon to be the next guardian of the stone. Reluctant to throw the girl into a lifelong commitment, Lisa Lisa asks if Rosalinda would like to train hamon and protect the stone to which the young Rosalinda agrees. Lisa Lisa spends the next thirteen years training and educating her ward in the ways of hamon. Lisa Lisa feels an affinity towards Rosalinda as a fellow orphan raised in the culture of hamon, mentioning to Loggs that she sees herself in the young girl. In Rosalinda, Lisa Lisa also sees an opportunity to raise and mold a child, an endeavor she missed out on with Joseph due to her murdering the zombie captain to avenge her husband’s death. Lisa Lisa is firm about not positioning herself as Rosalinda’s mother out of respect for the parents Rosalinda remembers. Lisa Lisa and Rosalinda hold a deep respect and fondness for each other, but do not refer to each other by any familiar terms until Rosalinda’s marriage to Joseph. Loggs and MessinaLoggs and Messina discovered Rosalinda after the deaths of her parents, which they were dispatched to investigate after being unable to get in contact with them. Upon arrival at Rosalinda’s home, the pair discover the bodies of Dante and Livia and find Rosalinda hiding with the Red Stone of Aja. The pair is able to coax the girl from the closet and bring her to Air Supply Island. Upon Rosalinda’s wardship by Lisa Lisa, the pair assist Lisa Lisa with training Rosalinda in hamon and educating her, with Messina taking on the role of training her hamon and Loggs her secular education. While Rosalinda respects both, she is far closer to Loggs, stating that he was the one who penciled her birthday on Lisa Lisa’s calendar, would bring her books and treats, and would take her to the cathedral in Venice for Mass. She regards him as the first person she would consider ‘family’ on Air Supply Island and considers his death ‘akin to losing her parents all over again’. Caesar Antonio ZeppeliCaesar is introduced to Rosalinda as a new hamon student Lisa Lisa is taking on after the death of his father and fellow hamon user, Mario Zeppeli. The pair first meet in Venice when Caesar, looking for Lisa Lisa, stumbles into Rosalinda, Suzie Q, and Lisa Lisa while they are running errands in the city. Rosalinda is initially put off by Caesar, regarding him as ungentlemanly and demanding of the women, before it becomes clear who he is and what has happened. Rosalinda serves as Lisa Lisa’s training assistant and sparring partner for Caesar as he undergoes Lisa Lisa’s training, supporting him and challenging him to improve his hamon and hone his skill and signature technique. The pair also go with Lisa Lisa to Rome to personally inspect the location of the Pillar Men. Caesar initially has romantic feelings for Rosalinda and they share a kiss before ultimately deciding to remain as close friends. Caesar values Rosalinda’s friendship immensely and helps out at her stall in Venice selling flowers, working as the ‘face’ of the shop hawking wares and bringing in customers. Suzie QSuzie Q is employed by Lisa Lisa as a housekeeper and has known Rosalinda for years, though she notes that it took ‘some time’ for Rosalinda to warm up to her, stating Rosalinda has a guarded heart. Despite this, the friendship is valued by both women. When it comes to Rosalinda’s relationship with Joseph, Suzie Q is happy her friend has found someone, though Suzie personally finds Joseph to be a step below Rosalinda’s ‘cute nice’ suitors, stating that Joseph has a ‘funny-looking potty mouth’ and believing that Rosalinda is ‘too good’ for Joseph. Still, Suzie Q is overjoyed to see Rosalinda so happy in love, believing no one deserves a happy ending more than her, especially since Rosalinda has always been preoccupied with work. Suzie vicariously supports her friend’s relationship and wishes for her happiness always. In turn, Rosalinda values the levity Suzie Q brings to Air Supply Island and is grateful for her friendship over the years. Before departing for Switzerland, Rosalinda states she’ll pray for Suzie Q and heals the wounds she received from Esidisi. Suzie Q serves as one of the two witnesses at Joseph and Rosalinda’s wedding. Holly Joestar KujoRosalinda cherishes and adores her daughter beyond words, stating that Holly is the child who made her a mother and taught her how to be one. Rosalinda stays at home with Holly as her daughter’s primary caregiver until she attends school. When Holly never manifests the ability to use hamon, Rosalinda is relieved, believing it serves as evidence that Holly doesn’t need to use such an ability because her life is peaceful and free from needing to learn combat arts. Holly is noted for being the emotional heart of the Joestar family and very deliberate in everything she does. Holly is the manifestation of what Rosalinda and Joseph envisioned for their kids - a peaceful life unconcerned with training to defeat evil. Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Antonio JoestarRosalinda loves and adores her son, whom she regards as completing their nuclear family. As with Holly, Rosalinda stays at home as his primary caregiver until he attends school. Unlike Holly, Beppe manifests the ability to use hamon. Initially reckless with it like his father, Rosalinda trains Beppe on how to use his new power responsibly. His mother’s guidance on how to use hamon to heal, combined with his innate interest in science, sparked Beppe’s interest in pursuing medicine, eventually obtaining his MD and working as Attending Physician at the SPD’s teaching hospital in New York City training the next generation of doctors. This is an accomplishment Rosalinda is incredibly proud of. Beppe believes that, as a Joestar (and specifically as a Joestar man) it is his duty to stand for justice and protect the weak, defining weak as anyone who isn’t a man or a Joestar. Though Beppe considers most people, including his own sister, to be weak, notably he considers Rosalinda to be on equal footing with him out of respect for her as his mother. Rosalinda notes that Giuseppe’s name is ‘the closest Joseph is getting to a namesake’ and Antonio is in honor of Caesar. Jotaro KujoJotaro is Rosalinda’s eldest grandson. When he is in jail, Rosalinda finds it hard to take his tough guy act seriously, recalling that the surly teen was the same boy who used to ‘squeal when his grandfather lifted him up to play airplane and wore little playsuits with matching hats’. She is appalled when Jotaro uses expletives against his mother and scolds him for this. Despite this, she extends grace to Jotaro, rationalizing that he is a stressed out young man on a journey to save his mother. While in Egypt, Jotaro becomes deeply worried when Rosalinda pricks herself on the stand arrow, unsure how she will react and what to do if she has an adverse reaction to manifesting a stand. Blessedly, this doesn’t happen. In Diamond is Unbreakable, Rosalinda wishes Jotaro good luck on his thesis, but tells him he ought to make more time for his daughter, Jolyne. Josuke HigashikataJosuke is Rosalinda’s younger grandson. In the original canon of Diamond is Unbreakable, Rosalinda is curious to meet her newly found grandson and heads to Morioh to do so, though she stresses that she would prefer Josuke be the one to determine the closeness of their relationship, not wanting to unsettle his life too much. Rosalinda does her best to not overtly compare Josuke to Beppe. Although the pair never become extremely close, they share a deep respect and fondness for each other. If Beppe lives, Rosalinda and Josuke share a much closer relationship, as Rosalinda has been involved in Josuke’s life since he was a child. Josuke enjoys when his grandmother visits, as well as the opportunity to go to New York City to visit her and Joseph as well. Since Beppe is erratic and often absent, Rosalinda steps up to dote on her grandson in his father’s place. During the events of Diamond is Unbreakable, Rosalinda often acts as a neutral party to decrease tension between Josuke and Beppe when they are together. Skills and AbilitiesRosalinda is a hamon prodigy, known to have understood the basics of hamon before being trained by Lisa Lisa. She is noted for having incredible control over her hamon and precise aim. Her primary abilities are as follows:
During the events of Stardust Crusaders, Rosalinda gains the stand ability ‘Bad Girls’ when she pricks herself on a stand arrow in Egypt:
In the alternative version of events where she does not go to Egypt, the Pillar Men rings belonging to Rosalinda gain the stand ability ‘OLD TECHNOLOGY’ after being pierced by the stand arrow possessed by Yoshishiro Kira:
