Part 1. Obedience to The Lord Jesus

Lesson 13: Obedience to the Lord Jesus in the Aspect of the Application of Faith

The basic verse of this message: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14).

1. Faith - the creative spiritual power of God

2. Faith in man

Everybody knows the famous verses from Scripture: “…But without faith it is impossible to please him …” (Hebrews 11:6), and more: “…whatsoever is not of faith is sin” (Romans 14:23), and more: “…The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17). And, not having enough clear understanding of the faith, they often interpret on the basis of the characteristics of their denomination. To believe in accordance with the denomination was convenient to many: “Trust us, as we have said to you, and you will be obedient to God.”

Someone may say: “But faith - is obedience.”

Faith - is obedience to the written Word of God as it comes from a belief. But:

This is what we'll about talk in this lesson and subsequent lessons. Let us start with the formation of the biblical idea of faith.

1. Faith - the creative spiritual power of God

The first thing that is important to know: the faith of God must be studied from God.

Read: “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3). In one translation of this verse the first part is: through the use of the faith of God, we know that all things were made visible by word of God. Or in other words, what man can see, wasn't made by the fact that he can see, but the fact that he can not see - the faith of God. Man is designed in such a way that he can only see results of natural sight, but you can not see the very spiritual essence of faith, from which and by which the power of the word of God all things were made.

Therefore, God's faith - it is not only the spiritual essence of the material, but:

It is written: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light” (Genesis 1:3).

“And God said: …and there was (manifested) (Genesis 1:6,7).

“And God said: …and there was” (Genesis 1:9). God at the beginning told or spoke His Word aloud, full of His life, of faith and power, and the word was or was manifested, materialized by His power. God unleashed His creative power of the Spirit, faith, through His word of faith, and as soon as He did, it immediately entered into force, and the power of the Spirit created matter, or matter brought into existence in accordance with that word of faith: “For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast” (Psalms 32:9).

God's mighty Spirit moves and acts in the direction of His faith. The Scripture talks about what took place through the release of God’s force of faith: “…And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” (Genesis 1:2).

Jesus Christ in one of His teachings said: “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). The words of God's faith release and actuate the creative power of the Spirit of God faith.

In the sphere of the spirit, without creative spiritual power of faith, it is impossible to do anything. In the sphere of the spirit everything is driven by fortitude and faith. Just as in the natural physical world, it is necessary to use certain forces operating as in the natural physical world. In different areas - different strength, but spiritual forces are primary.

In the natural physical sphere - all in the power of the spiritual creative power - God's faith: “…all things are possible to him that believeth(Mark 9:23). In the natural physical world, all things are possible to those who will use the spiritual power of God, faith. Jesus taught: “…whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” (Matthew 21:22).

Now let's learn how God puts in action his spiritual strength, faith.

Calling a non-existent in the natural physical world, as it is existing - this is the essence of faith in the application of God's. Saying: “…Let there be …” (Genesis 1:3), God said something that has not yet been in the natural physical world, but the words spoken by God: “…Let there be …” (Genesis 1:3), carrying the essence of light, we were told that it became to be. God did not say what he had seen, he said what he wanted to see. Faith is not the materialization of material that is in the natural physical world, and that what we hope for, and the evidence of things that have not yet been discovered by the physical senses, invisible. It is written: “…even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17).

The word "non-existent" in this context means: Missing in the natural physical world. But the absence of the natural physical world - does not mean missing in the spiritual world. It is written: “Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world” (Acts of the Apostles 15:18), also in the book of Proverbs (eighth chapter), the wisdom of God says that God planned all eternity before the foundation of the world. Planned and, thus, already had it in his spirit. That is, in the Spirit of God in the spiritual realm is already everything you need for all of God's creations. And what there is, it is planned in the time of its manifestation in the natural physical world: “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Something, what should be under the heavens, and when it should be in the wisdom of God is already known, but how it should be, we just study the Scripture.

Saying: “…Let there be light…” (Genesis 1:3), God said that it was already in the spiritual sphere, the light was already in God. God, speaking the non-existent in the natural physical world, as though they were, in the words of faith materialized or moved from the sphere of the spirit to the physical natural realm.

In some interpretations of the original text of the Old Testament we see that those who wrote the Old Testament, in certain verses use the word "yatsar" - "create" or "to shape" for transmission of God's creation method. For example, this word is suitable to describe how the children make a snowman, giving to it the shape of how they imagine it, or leaving it in its own purpose.

Just as the inventor first thought appears, which carries all the elements of a particular instrument. We see the sparkling eyes and ask the inventor, “What happened to you?” He answers, “What I’m seeing! If you only knew what I have!” We say, “Where, show me?” He replies, “In my mind.” Then, the inventor transfers invisible ideas to the paper in the form of drawings, specifies the material from which it is produced. Based on the drawings, making parts shapes the fact that in the drawings, and gathering them together, we see a device which the inventor says, “Here is what I saw.”

The Genesis of the Old Testament at the end of a description of how God created, we read: “And God saw every thing that he had made (words of faith), and, behold, it was very good…” (Genesis 1:31). But God saw everything only after he said the words of faith. His invisible will from His Spirit became evident by the words of faith said by Him. These are the basics of materialization, using the power of faith - to say the desired.

This is the method of the realization of something in the natural physical world.

This is the true method of moving from the sphere of the spirit to the physical natural sphere. This is the true method of changing something in the natural physical world. As we read in the Gospel of John: “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:3), also we read: “…so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3).

2. Faith in man

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth” (Genesis 1:26).

Scripture tells us that God created man in His own image. God did not create an equal in all God (with capital letters). Created in the likeness of Himself, or the like herein means: to create the creation, which should do everything as its Creator, God, or to imitate its Creator in all. The Bible says to man: “…Be ye therefore followers of God…” (Ephesians 5:1). Then the question arises: “What exactly can a person do or has the God-given right and ability to imitate its Creator, or as a person can manifest similarity?”

What does it mean "to imitate"? In dictionaries the word "imitation" means "imitation" - to follow any example, the sample; reproduction of one’s movement, action, behavior of another person.

Question: “What kind of imitation can be accomplished?” There are three ways in which a person can imitate anybody: the thoughts, words and actions. Consequently, the imitation of the human to its Creator, God, can and should be manifested:

- to think as his Creator;

- to speak, as his Creator, and for the same purpose;

- to act or do anything like his Creator, and for the same purpose.

For the necessity of imitation of God by humans leads to the following important knowledge for the person as a spiritual creation:

For example, God said to the man: “…And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:28). In order for a person who is in obedience to God to have the ability to carry out all of the items presented by him, God must first equip the person with everything necessary for the implementation of these items, or commandment becomes impossible to perform. One of the most important knowledge of God - this is that:

Therefore, created man: “…in his own image…” (Genesis 1:27), God has provided spirit of man with all the necessities to follow Him in all things. Knowing this gives us an understanding of the vital ability and ensure God embedded in the human spirit - namely, the power of the human spirit, faith.

God's man of faith Lester Sumrall spoke about faith: “Faith - this is a real force acting in the depths of the human spirit.”

God - the Creator, He established creature, a man with the ability and power to create perfect will of God on the earth in all its fullness without any defect, regardless of any already-moving events. Man - God's representative on earth in order to carry out on earth, God told him what to do or create, but in order that a man created God's events and, if necessary, changed the course of events in accordance with God's will. The Scriptures says: “And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath …” (Deuteronomy 28:13).

After giving power of faith to the spirit of man, God has demonstrated to man and recorded in the first chapter of Genesis, as well as through what this power actuated. God wrote this method, so that man does not come up, and read and did it the same way. The first thing that should be noted before considering this method: a person as God's spiritual creation, in the time period described in the first two chapters of Genesis, had only words of faith.

Now let us turn to the first chapter of Genesis, where God described in detail the method, as well as by what is gotten in the action of the power of man’s spirit, faith. read: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light” (Genesis 1:3).

“And God said: …and there was (manifested)(Genesis 1:6,7).

“And God said: …and there was” (Genesis 1:9). It was exact as God said.

God said the word of faith, released His power of faith and the power of His Spirit had created matter, or matter brought into existence in accordance with the fact that the meaning of the word faith. God's mighty Spirit moves and acts in the direction of his faith.

The power of the Spirit of God always responds to faith.

The power of faith, as a starter in the car. When the ignition key is in the first move is a starter and it drives the engine. In this example, the word of faith as the key, the power of faith, as a starter, and the engine is similar to the power of God's Spirit. In general, and causing the whole process works, it is called in the Bible: “…the law of the Spirit of life…” (Romans 8:2).

It is a constant, a certain order of God: the word of God, the faith of God, the power of God's Spirit: “…So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17), “…all things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23), “…but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). No one can ever supplement or change the God defined procedure for applying the power of faith.

At first Adam had everything necessary. God gave to Adam his words, Adam did not have to think, what to say, he did not say anything other than the words of God faith. Words of the perfect will of God flowed from his spirit, guided by the Spirit of God, every word of Adam before his fall was the word of faith, which connects it with the spirit of life. And the spirit of life that embodied or materialized Adam said a word. As it is written:

“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.”

(Deuteronomy 28:1,2)

Adam lived by the words of faith, all he had to do to materialize something - to say it. He had no doubt, no fear, therefore, nothing prevented the implementation of what was said by God through his mouth.   Course «Glory».  Lesson13.                                                     Page  from
