My dear De Laszlo,
I wrote to Sir Malcolm Murray[1] asking him to get the Duke of Connaught[2] to visit your exhibition[3] & I now enclose the answer I have received. I am lunching with the Duke next week when I will speak to him personally about paying a visit to the French Gallery. May I congratulate Mrs de Laszlo on her brilliant party last night, at which everyone was

so interested as interesting. We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
Au revoir, mon ami

My dear friend
I have just been to the French Gallery[4] where I found myself entranced by your wonderful work, & I want to tell you how much I enjoyed the hour I spent there. I am only sorry you did not have the portrait of Lorna which you finished in 1914 [9819] as it is a gem and worthy of you.
Where all the portraits are so wonderful it is not easy to pick out any particular one, but noone could pass by the portrait group of your 3 boys [5245] or the Dalrymple-White boy [4629]. A hundred years from now your pictures will be commanding

the prices now obtained for Reynolds, Romney or Raeburn’s work.
All good luck to you and Madame.
Yours ever
Charles R Burn

My dear de Laszlo,
Just a line to let you know that I have informed the Duke of Connaught[5] of your Exhibition[6] & have told him that he will be well rewarded by paying a visit to the French Gallery. I hope he will find time to go round the portraits.
Yours ever
Charles R Burn
