Welcome to Boodlebox
We will be using an incredible AI tool this semester: Boodlebox. We will be using Boodlebox for specific assignments throughout the semester, so you will need to activate your account. I have shared an invitation to Boodlebox in your official Panthermail account. Please establish an account with Boodlebox using that invitation, and make sure you use your official GSU email when you sign up—otherwise it won't work!!

Before I get to the advantages, let me take a moment to explain why the platform is called "BoodleBox." It seems like a strange title, but it has an important back-story. The founder of BoodleBox, France Hoang, is a graduate of the US Military Academy at West Point. "Boodlebox" is West Point cadet lingo for a box, usually delivered around midterms and finals, full of goodies like jerky, candy, and chips. So, essentially, BoodleBox is a goodie box full of tasty AI tools. 😋
There are several important advantages to using Boodlebox in my class.
- It's secure. Boodlebox complies with all the requirements for the Family Education and Privacy Act (FERPA). You can use it with confidence, knowing your information is not shared on the internet.
- Access to premium AI models without the premium cost.
- Help built in. In the chat, simply type @help to chat with the helpbot to assist you in getting around Boodlebox.
- Easy Messaging. In the chat bar, you have two main options for direct messaging: 1) Type "/" before your message to send a direct message to a team member or 2) Click the chat bar's three-dot menu and select "Switch to Message Mode." Once you are in chat mode, share the link to your chat to anyone on Boodlebox that you want to chat with. At any time, you can message an AI chatbot to join the conversation, then switch back to messaging only with a simple "/."
- Environmentally Conscious. BoodleBox has engineered a solution that generates chats using up to 80% fewer tokens across various AI models, such as GPT-4o, Claude, and Gemini. By drastically reducing token usage, BoodleBox minimizes the computational power needed for AI interactions, leading to a significantly reduced carbon footprint.

Joining Process:
- Click the invite link I shared via your Panther email.
- Create an account. Go to box.boodle.ai. Click "Sign Up." Provide full name and Panther email and a strong password you can remember (write it down!!). Finally, verify your account in your Panther email.
- After Joining: Your picture will appear in the left sidebar at the bottom. Hover over or click to confirm your account details.
