Top Goodies
Sir Links-a-lot
- Easy access to modified Google links.
Crxcavator - an online tool for digging into Chrome extensions & seeing how safe they are. Also, check if it uses manifest version 2 or 3. Always be conscious of the permissions you are giving any extension!
Extensions:
Screen Mask
- Lowers the opacity of all but one horizontal bar to eliminate page distractions so that you can focus on reading one passage at a time.
Save image as Type - Save a .webp image as .jpg or .png. This page explains .webp and has some you can use to try the extension.
Revision History
- Show summary of history of edits in a Google Doc including "active writing time."
Meow, The Cat Pet
- Virtual Cat pet who walks on your screen & can remind you of things. Dog option too. Doesn't work on a new tab in Chrome. Try this page.
Stickity - Add-on For Docs and For Slides - Digital stickers to help support learning. More info here. Lots of stickers for free but they also have a Pro account with a trial - more on pricing here.
FYI - Each extension enabled uses memory. Too many extensions can slow down Chrome. Use the extension Extensity to disable extensions when not needed.
FYI - To manage extensions, click on the puzzle piece on your extensions bar and select Manage extensions. Review/Remove extensions; set up keyboard shortcuts for extensions.
Features / Techniques:
Drive - Preview Mode - OLD SHORTCUT: Select a file and press P. Use arrow keys to move to other files in that folder. NEW SHORTCUT: Option+Command+P
Calendar - Views: Day (d); Week (w); Month (m); Year (y); Schedule/Agenda (a); Custom View (x) - set your custom view in Calendar Settings. NOTE - If your keyboard shortcuts aren't working, go to your Calendar Settings and enable Keyboard Shortcuts.
Chrome - Open Location: ⌘+L (ctrl+L);
Multiple services - Insert Link: ⌘+K (ctrl+K);
See all keyboard shortcuts in most Google services: ⌘+/ (ctrl+/)
Tab Groups - You can save groups now!
Tab Organizer - Must have Experimental AI enabled to use. Chrome can suggest and automatically create tab groups.
Type @ in Omnibox and select SEARCH TABS
Bookmark all tabs at once (without an extension) - More > Bookmarks and Lists > Bookmark all tabs
See what Chrome is up to with the Task Manager - More > More Tools > Task Manager
Some EDU PLUS license features you may hear about (and many more new ones coming Monday morning of ISTE!)

All of the signatures are saved into a Google Slide, where they can be resized, rotated, and arranged as desired. Once done, you can download the slide with all of the signatures as a PNG with a transparent file to use for a yearbook page, T-shirt, or any other project that uses signatures. Note: the video doesn't use the latest Apps Script editor. To get to the web app deploy area, click on the blue DEPLOY button and choose "New Deployment."
