WOW! It’s hard to believe we are diving into our second semester of school already! It has been an exceptional year of student success!  Although we have a few critical months ahead, we are excited to support, guide, and celebrate our students’ academic growth as they push through STAAR and daily academic achievements on our campus.  Below, you will find some important information to help you understand attendance and behavior expectations.  As always, please contact us anytime with questions or concerns.

Attendance:

As you know, attendance is incredibly important to your child’s academic success in school.  When your child is out, he/she misses the instructional component to learning.  Although we understand that personal commitments, appointments, and illnesses occur, please continue to make it your goal to have your child here every day! A few reminders and tips are below:

Behavior:

Character, integrity, and building a culture of caring and hard working individuals is always our goal here at La Vernia Junior High School.  We work towards helping students not only create goals aimed for success, but also assisting and helping students through the process of reaching their academic and personal goals throughout the school year.  In doing so, accountability is essential.

This year, we have successfully implemented a step system for our students campus wide.  The step form is intended to provide students with immediate feedback, open communication, and redirect his/her focus on behavior expectations and goals.

Additionally, please remember to support and remind your child of dress code rules.  Please refer to the Student Handbook with questions and/or clarity. A few general reminders are below:

As always, we truly appreciate your support!

Thank you,

Mr. Villanueva and Mrs. Hubert
