McMinnville High School Forensics

Hello Friends,

I am so very pleased to invite you to the 2025 McMinnville High School Speech Invitational, hosted in person on January 25th 2025.   I am sure we can all work together to make this a successful and safe tournament for everyone.

This year we will be offering all Speech Events Congress, and SPAR.

Speech/SPAR  competitors may double enter at their own risk.  Congress  may not .

We will not be offering Parli, PF, or LD.

Extemp and SPAR may not be double entered.

Each team is allowed 4 entries per event.

Entry Caps : We want to make sure that we have enough space to accommodate all schools who wish to attend. Therefore, we are capping entries at 4 entries per event during the initial registration process. Should it become evident that we will have excess space available for additional competitors, we will notify coaches of relaxation of these entry caps and take entries off of the waitlist. In individual events, students may enter two events total.  I only have a certain number of rooms, when the tournament is full, all entries will be waitlisted. Priorities getting kids off the waitlist will be based on reality and fairness.

For every 4 entries (not students, entries) the school MUST PROVIDE ONE JUDGE

        For example, 16 entries= 4 judges

Each judge must meet the volunteer requirements of that school district.

Each judge must be prepared to judge EVERY ROUND OF THE DAY.

(there are ONLY 4 ROUNDS, see schedule below)

Tournament Registration All entries will be accepted using the tabroom.com website.

Please use that site as a resource not only for entering the tournament but also for making changes to your entry and finding important tournament announcements. :

No changes after  Monday, January 26 at 11:00 pm (Pacific). Additional entries will not be accepted after this deadline.

JUDGES DUE  Wed Jan 28th.  After this deadline, fees will be calculated and drops will be charged full entry fees.

I realize this is a crazy judge requirement.  I do.  But in order to make this happen, and to make it run like a swiss clock, this is the plan.  I hope that I am giving you enough notice to call in your troops and get them signed up.  This allows us to keep the numbers to a minimum of the total number of bodies in the building.  It's only 4 rounds.  This is how we finish at 5pm.

There will be 2 sessions of Congress.

Once registration is open, there will be a waitlist if needed.

More info on food/concessions soon.

Awards will be nice trophies or medals

Coaches are responsible for being aware and making sure that any adults (judges/coaches/ + whomever else) follow  mandates set by their school districts at time of tournament.

Food and Concessions: TBD

There will definitely be Coffee, beverages and food available all day for judges/coaches.

Students are responsible for their own food.
