Dear Mr Attorney-General and Member,

RE: SERIOUS ISSUES OF UNDERFUNDING IN FAMILY LAW COURTS GIVING RISE TO DELAYS IN THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE AND THEREFORE CAUSING DENIAL OF JUSTICE

This letter is written to give you both notice that the significant delays in justice and judicial determinations in the Family Court of Australia and Federal Circuit Court of Australia has been drawn to my attention.

[you may wish to add information about your personal experiences here]

It is not acceptable that the core of our society, the family, must endure lengthy delays impacting on children and finances thereby extending hardships of a personal and financial nature to many individuals.

More judges and resources are needed for those Courts.

Please respond to indicate what is being done to task resources to appoint judges and alleviate the backload of cases, the lengthy waiting time for people needing judicial outcomes via trial and also the delayed judgments for cases that have been heard.

It is respectfully requested that you take serious and immediate steps on behalf of your constituents and the public generally to overcome this problem.

I hope that this issue receives your serious consideration and I look forward to hearing from you about how the issue can be handled at the earliest possible convenience.

Sincerely,
