It was a bright and sunny day when John was out on the street playing soccer with his mates, when his mum Angel called him in for a little talk. Angel told john a war broke out in Europe and told him he has to join the army. So of course John told his mates and they said all you need to do is shoot and you won't get hit. Later that day John signed up and got dressed in his new uniform.
It was a bright and sunny day when John was out playing soccer with his mates. His mum Angel called him in for a little talk, and told John that war had broken out in Europe and that he had to go and join the army, so of course John told his mates. They said all you need to do is shoot and you won't get hit. He was eager to do his bit to help his country as he had been requested. So with a heart full of anticipation later that day, John foolishly agreed to sign up and was soon dressed smartly in his new uniform.
The next day John had to be at the station before five thirty in the morning to go the training camp that is out of town. John was really excited to go because he really wanted to show all the captains how good he is at shooting. The next day the captains thought he was really good so he was qualified to go to war.
A few days later, John would be at the station, ready to board the train heading to the army camp. He didn’t know that he would not be going back in the same state as he left in. John was overjoyed to go because all his friends were going and he had been told that it was fun. The next month the captains training the recruits , eager to send as many men to war as possible, thought John and his friends were ready .
When the men arrived they had to straght to the trenches to fight for their country. After a few hours later John taught the trenches smelt like dead bodies, rats and rotten food. John was walking around the trenches to explore, suddenly he ran into his friends that he would always played soccer with.
When the men arrived , after a day camping nearby the trenches, they were to sent straight to the front line. A few hours later after the first day finished, lying in the uncomfortable floor, John thought about how wrong he had been . The trenches were nothing like he expected , they stunk of blood had rats and lice crawling around. Suddenly he ran into his friends that he always played soccer with, back at the playground when they were free.
