Bell Hill Academy
Through school-wide global studies, students examine different societies and the environments in which people live. Students develop an understanding and appreciation of their own culture while reflecting on cultural diversity.
Each grade K-4 is assigned a continent to investigate. Explorations into foods, arts, and traditions are woven into academic instruction. Local artists, musicians and storytellers provide rich instruction: children may craft Native American pinch pots or canopic jars; they may learn taiko drumming, didgeridoo, or perform samba music with homemade percussion instruments.
As children travel the world through these experiences, they expand their capacity to consider and appreciate similar – perspectives.
