”There are more important issues in the world right now” is a myth
• ”It’s not that deep” - yes it is.

It is important to note that there are “life-long” white female and queer gay men who are also opposed to this album and see the issues with it. If you’d like to find their content, it’s readily available on TikTok and Threads as well. Their voices will not be featured here, but there are thousands of them speaking out, which is important for allyship. People besides the ones that it directly affects and impacts are starting to notice.

It is also important to note that Black folks, just like any margenalized group, are not a monoliths and some Black women may have different opinions. It is important to listen* to them AND the Black voices who challenge them in return.
*Listen - not share your opinion or use Black voices as accessories to prepetuate your theories on racism as white women.

It is imparative for white women to be quiet during this time and take the information in as we learn FOR FREE from Black women.

On intentionality of lyrics: White Women defending Swift, infantilizing her, saying she didn’t know her lyrics were racist (all while being a lyrical genius and word smith) - Black women sharing WHY they are and how they got there, giving examples form their experience - and other white women continuing to tell them they’re wrong.
