Small Child Hit By Family Car

Spaulding Street Elementary’s quiz team’s Melody Brooks went Out of Her Mind to warn her mom that her 3 year old sister Penny was outside when Mrs. Brooks was backing up the car out of her driveway! Here is a direct quote from Melody: “ I had to tell her Penny was out there! Never had I wanted words more.”

After a few minutes of Melody’s stalling Mrs. Brooks had had enough. She backed up and sure enough there was a thud. Mrs. Brook’s looked confused. She left the car, looked under and screamed louder then  the police sirens. They took Penny to the hospital as soon as possible. She has a few internal injuries,a broken leg,  but no brain damage.
