Covid-19 Schedule

Following university policy and in acknowledgement of our local school partners, field trips to our Lab are postponed indefinitely.

Internships are being conducted virtually, as are 3-D printing requests.

Thinkabit staff are available to support teachers virtually with curriculum, design challenges, guest speakers (career and college exploration, IOT and Smart Cities, and Profile of a Graduate programs), and development of hands-on kits.

Anticipated 2021 Normal Operating Hours

When Covid-19 restrictions are lifted, we expect the Thinkabit Lab programs to be available again from 8am to 10pm.  School group visits are typically scheduled between 10am to 2pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, customizable for school schedules.  The Lab is also available for other groups on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.

We host teacher groups, school clubs or special activities on most school days after 2pm.

Community groups - particularly those engaged in education, science and technology, entrepreneurship and leadership -  can also request the lab by phone or email  (Thinkabit @vt.edu).

Instructions on safety requirements for wearing face coverings, social distancing, and/or questionnaires will be provided prior to the visit and will be based on university guidance available at that time.

Directions

** NOTICE:  After March 13, 2020, buses will no longer be able to park in our lot due to construction at both the adjacent high school and the East Falls Church Metro station.  We are looking for options for visiting buses, but drivers should be prepared to find off-site parking.

Buses dropping students off but not staying may use the driveway between our building and George Mason High School (marked "Virginia Tech Deliveries").
