Here is what’s happening this week!

ELA

Melanie Carpenter

melaniecarpenter@icimagine.org

This week in ELA, students will continue building foundational skills in grammar. We completed our first writing, our Reading and Writing Autobiographies, and moved briefly through the writing process, scratching the surface on what to expect this year with our formal writing assignments.

We will peer edit and  apply our knowledge of revision work and how we can use our peers to improve our writing.

As we move into book clubs in the next couple weeks, we will start our Deep Study of Character unit, deepening our understanding of character growth.

Math

Steven Sarnie

stevensarnie@icimagine.org

This week in Math  we will be learning and working towards finding unique prime factorization for whole numbers. We have a Jeopardy Math game that will be connecting GCF, LCM, Order of Operations and Prime Factorization. We have new vocabulary added to our Composition Notebooks.
