  1. Before you begin writing your outline make sure that you are writing in double spacing.  To turn this on, go to Format -> Line Spacing -> Double.

Essay Outline

Argument:  Take your argument from our last writing workshop and write it here.  Type it exactly as you have it on your paper with the red check.  As you type, make sure that you have your counterargument and then the four parts to the answer.

Hook:  What is your image that you will use for this hook?  Write your sentence filled with imagery.  Maybe this will be related to your facts.

Topic 1:  Here, write your fact that you will explore in topic one.  This should come from your research.

Topic Sentence:  Here, write the topic sentence for this paragraph.  The topic sentence should introduce your evidence/fact/example and connect it to your argument.  Question:  How does this example relate to your point about how to remember tragedy?

Piece of Evidence:  Select a quote, give a paraphrase, tell something about your evidence.

Explain the Evidence:  Explain your thinking process and answer the key question of How does this fact prove that you are right about how to remember tragedy?
