Reset your Moodle Courses

For backup and reset, start at step 1. 

For reset only, start at step 6.

1. Open the Moodle course you want to reset.  Click on Backup under the Administration block.  

2. Uncheck “Include enrolled users” and then click Next.

3. Scroll to the bottom and click Next.

4. Choose what weeks or topics you would like to include and click next again.

5. Scroll to the bottom and click Perform Backup. After the backup, you can click Continue. You may download the backup if you wish.

Clear students from your Moodle

6. Navigate back to your Course home page.  Click on Reset in the Administration block.

7. Select the items you wish to reset.  (I recommend the following: Unenroll-Students, Delete all gradebook items, Delete Assignment submissions, Delete all quiz attempts.)  Finally click Reset course to complete the process.
