Reflection of Carpet Design

I started drawing lines and shapes as patterns, I then form kind of a raspberry shaped pattern. The inside has a small circle with triangles with triangles as spikes on the outside. Surrounding the spikes, it’s circles and circles with 3 lines in them each. It created a pattern that looks like it’s hanging on the the spikes. Outside of the spikes there are millions of half circle topping patterns. That was only the practice, so I had to think of more for the actual project.

        For the final project I did not have any idea at all other than drawing the same pattern that I did on the practice, which is good, but there are a ton of blank space left to be filled. However, I did a tile on both corners of top left and bottom right. I then added some circles and had random patterns on the circle or next to the circle. The one on the top left, it looks like a sun that has more spikes but it forms a flower shaped pattern, connecting to the next circle by some vines with one circle and a triangle on the top. The same thing was done on the other end. Although the second time I did it, I don’t think it turned out that well. I then had 2 triangles on each side creating and symmetrical pattern for this whole carpet design. The triangle wasn’t really what I was aiming for, however, I kind of fixed it after all, I was hoping for shading on each tiny piece of the triangle but I thought we couldn’t use a pencil so I completely ignored the idea of shading at first. I made it so it’s also connecting to the main shape which is a raspberry shape that is made out of several different patterns. Starts out with a circle and some triangle shapes in it, then triangles surrounding it, with circles on each of the triangles, in those other circles, it had 3 lines with one of them connecting to the others. One top of those, there is a huge 3D looking triangle with 2 vines on the empty side. The rest of the patterns are half circle shapes that is like the skin of a raspberry, so I kind of make a lot of them into a raspberry shape. I didn’t know what to draw after these, since that is all the idea I had.
        I think next time I need to be more of a risk taker than thinking I couldn’t think of anything or I couldn’t make it so pretty. I think I should also remember the tips about shading and balance. I think my raspberry idea was good, I think it looks not bad, however drawing the side was blank at first, and my mind was blank as well. I really struggled to think of whatever could be on that blank space, I didn’t think I could scale out some of the patterns I saw on google and the book. I will do better this time, I think it was fun.
