STARTER GUIDE

1) Never touch hot vials, hot heating elements, or the induction coil. Always allow ample time for the vial and heating element(s) to cool before touching.

2) Flip on the switch at the back of the unit.

3) Scoop or place a small amount of concentrate (~0.1 gram) onto one or more heating elements and drop into the vial.

THE REACTOR

 HEART OF THE REFLUX VAPORIZER

4) Gently screw the vial into the bottom of the REACTOR assembly; do not over-tighten.

5) Insert the REACTOR’s legs into the corresponding holes on the top plate.

6) Plug the desired intake holes on the Reactor to create the desired airflow.

7) Set the timer cycle dial to the desired electromagnetic heating cycle.

8) Press the white start button to initiate the heating cycle.

9) Allow your concentrate to preheat and then begin inhaling at the onset of vaporization to taste your concentrate and/or terpenes at their best. Typically a puff of vapor can be seen exiting the vent hole on the top of the REACTOR at the onset of vaporization.

10) If more vapor is desired when the timer cycle ends (indicator light turns off), reinitiate the heating cycle by pressing the white start button.

11) Allow the timer cycle to expire or press the black kill button when you’ve had enough vapor, the vapor is too hot, the taste fouls, or the concentrate has been completely vaporized.  It’s best to press the black kill button when done with an active session to prevent unnecessary heating.

12) Replace or clean the used vial and/or heating element(s) with isopropyl alcohol, and repeat the process with an untold number of different heating element configurations.

13) Master your REFLUX with the help of the TECHNICAL MANUAL below.

SOME POPULAR HEATING ELEMENT CONFIGURATIONS

These are some of the more popular heating element configurations.  It won’t take long for you to identify your favorite configurations; understand how the shape, size, material, and quantity directly affect vaporization; and acquire the skills to predictably reproduce the desired experiences.  Refer to the HEATING ELEMENT CONFIGURATIONS TABLE in the OWNER’S MANUAL for additional ideas.

TECHNICAL MANUAL

THE DIFFERENCE

Hand-assembled in the USA and made with industrial grade components, REFLUX is built to last, and delivers the preeminent concentrate experience at the push of a button.

A minimalist design with unmatched flexibility gives you unique analog control over vaporization.  REFLUX is the only electromagnetic concentrate vaporizer that offers selective interchangeability of a collection of heating element configurations of various shape, size, material, and quantity to provide unprecedented control over the temperature ramp and Vapor TextureTM of your concentrate.

REFLUX’s revolutionary Slow-Temp heating process reveals the purest essence by delicately building vapor intensity from the lightest mist through your ideal cloud (Mist-Through-CloudTM).  With Slow-Temp you finally have time to savor the very onset of vaporization when concentrates and terpenes taste their best.  Then as the temperature continues to gently ramp-up you experience waves of flavor as the components of your concentrate reach their vaporization points.

By controllably vaporizing the components of your concentrate at the lowest temperatures possible you also experience the highest efficiency, prevent the formation and vaporization of unwanted compounds, and taste your concentrates like you’ve never tasted them before.

Savor Your Concentrate And All The Science That Goes Into It

SAVOR THE SCIENCE

TEMPERATURE RAMPS

A temperature ramp is the rate of change in temperature over time, expressed in degrees per second.  The graphs below show estimated temperature ramps for various heating element configurations without concentrate loaded.  The temperature ramps were measured with an infrared sensor at fifteen second intervals and are considered to be estimates because of slight variability in the measurement process.  The endpoint of a temperature ramp shows how long it takes for a particular heating element configuration to reach a given temperature.  As can be seen in some of the graphs, some Slow-Temp heating element configurations may take more than 100 seconds (one full timer cycle) just to reach the very onset of vaporization and will continue to gradually increase in temperature and vapor intensity for more than another 300 seconds.  From a cold start that’s 5 minutes or more of vapor from a small amount of concentrate without overheating.  REFLUX’s signature temperature ramps and Slow-Temp performance completely redefine the art of concentrate consumption.

COLLECTION OF HEATING ELEMENT CONFIGURATIONS

There are an untold number of heating element configurations, and new configurations are constantly under development, and passed on to REFLUX users.  Each heating element or combination thereof forms its own unique temperature ramp and Vapor Texture.

USING MULTIPLE HEATING ELEMENTS

Progressively smaller heating elements typically produce shallower temperature ramps and finer vapor with purer flavor.  The slope of a temperature ramp rises as the quantity of the heating elements is increased, and lowers as the quantity is decreased.  Consequently, you can easily adjust the temperature ramp to your desired rate by adding or subtracting from the number of smaller heating elements being used.  Using multiple smaller heating elements together is easier to control and better for group sessions when compared to the shorter heating times of the larger single heating elements.  Smaller heating elements take longer to build vapor intensity, which gives you more time to pass the whip around.  Depending on the size and quantity of the smaller heating elements being used it may take 100 seconds (full timer cycle) or more just to preheat and reach the temperature associated with the very onset of vaporization.  It’s okay to pull the Reactor assembly out of the base unit and take a peek at the vaporization process, but be aware that it will stall the heating process.  This is also a good time to jingle your heating elements to ensure that they are all seated in the recess of the vial.  If you’re not getting to temperature quick enough with a plurality of the smaller heating elements then add more mass by either increasing the size or quantity of the smaller heating elements.  It should be noted that there is a minimum and maximum quantity for each of the smaller heating elements being used in combination.  Recommendations are set forth in the Table above.  Maximum heating time when using the smaller elements in combination is less than 500 seconds (five full timer cycles).  Surface area matters and maximum surface area is achieved when using a plurality of smaller heating elements.  Consider increasing the heating element surface area by reducing heating element diameter and increasing the quantity in order to obtain a similar collective heating element mass with a finer Vapor Texture. Once dialed in try mixing heating elements of different sizes.

LARGER SINGLE HEATING ELEMENTS

The larger single heating elements produce steeper temperature ramps with thicker and hotter vapor. Typically as the mass increases, so does the temperature ramp slope and Vapor Texture.  Some of the larger single heating elements have sweet spots within the 100 second timer cycle and the experience is reproducible by setting the timer cycle dial to your favorite time. While other single heating element configurations may take up over 200 seconds (two full timer cycles) to reach the desired temperature.  Try setting the timer dial to ~20-50 seconds for these larger heating elements and baby step your way through the heating process.  Once you hit the desired temperature let the timer expire or hit the black kill button to stop the heating process.  Then when the concentrate falls below the target temperature reinitiate the heating process by hitting the white start button.  Utilizing this technique allows you to keep the heating element(s) within the desired temperature zone without overheating.

GLOWSTICK HEATING ELEMENTS

This class of heating elements has magnetic steel cores encapsulated in borosilicate.  The larger the core the faster the ramp.  Recommended heating cycles are as follows:

FAST RAMP GLOWSTICK

-Run a ~22 second first cycle and after the cycle terminates or when you see vapor leaking out the top of the REACTOR give it a rip and taste the lowest temperature.

-Dial the timer down to ~12 seconds and run the second cycle.  When the timer expires, rip it as hard as you can.

-Turn the timer down to ~8 seconds and heat as needed till the sesh is over.

***For bigger clouds heat with longer first and second heating cycles, and for smaller clouds heat with shorter first and second heating cycles.

MEDIUM RAMP GLOWSTICK

-Run a ~27 second first cycle and after the cycle terminates or when you see vapor leaking out the top of the REACTOR give it a rip and taste the lowest temperature.

-Dial the timer down to ~15 seconds and run the second cycle.  When the timer expires, rip it as hard as you can.

-Turn the timer down to ~10 seconds and heat as needed till the sesh is over.

SLOW RAMP GLOWSTICK

Set the dial around 50 seconds and heat as needed.

PREHEATING AND INHALATION TECHNIQUES

The first technique is to begin inhaling at the very onset of vaporization where mist like vapor provides an unbelievably sweet nectar.  Then as the temperature continues to ramp up and the vapor intensity progressively builds you experience the individual components of your concentrate as they reach their vaporization points.  Be aware that consistent inhalation during the temperature ramp slows down the heating process.  Another method is to continuously preheat to a temperature that produces a cloud of the desired richness and then begin inhalation.  This technique can be used to produce thick clouds off the bat, but will require a longer preheat.  The third technique is a combination of the first two where you inhale at the very onset of vaporization to experience the light volatiles then wait for your concentrate to reach cloud temperature before your next inhale.

MAXIMUM RECOMMENDED FILL LINE

LOADING

The amount of concentrate loaded in the vial directly affects vaporization. Overfilling the vial reduces efficiency and flavor/gram.  In addition, it takes longer for the concentrate to reach vapor temperature when more is used.  To start, load just enough concentrate to fill the recess in the bottom of the vial when melted.  If it's not enough, add a little more next time.  Each heating element configuration has its own optimum fill and should be optimized for flavor and efficiency.  Try starting with approximately 0.1g to get a feel for the loading process.  If you run a full session and there is still a usable amount of concentrate left in the bottom of the vial try loading a little less next time.  Please note that using multiple small heating elements (1.4-1.8mm) typically requires less concentrate, e.g.,  (<0.1g) for optimal experience.  Less is more with REFLUX.  Let REFLUX conserve your concentrates.  When the indicator light is on, your concentrate is being heated. Once vapor begins forming do not allow the unit to sit idle for an extended period of time without inhaling. Unnecessary heating lowers the quality of concentrates.  Let REFLUX help you save money, not waste it!

VIALS

Gently thread the vial into the REACTOR. Do not over tighten. Allowing a small amount of oil to remain in the threaded bore of the REACTOR will act as a sealant and aid in sealing the vial to the REACTOR.

QUAD INTAKE REACTOR AND AIRFLOW THROTTLE

The Quad Intake Reactor has four air intake holes.  Up to three of the holes may be selectively plugged by dialing the airflow throttle to obtain the desired airflow and dial in the ideal vapor experience ever further.  This can be particularly useful when connecting to a rig or pipe for water filtration.  Below is a breakdown of the five possible airflow layouts.

  1. One open hole, which is the original layout, creates a powerful single jet vortex.
  2. Two opposing open holes create a uniform airflow vortex that keeps the oil the lowest in the vial.  This seems to be the most popular layout when connecting to a rig.
  3. Two side-by-side open holes create a vortex with excellent control over the movement of certain heating element configurations, while still allowing an easy draw when connecting to a rig.
  4. Lift up or remove the airflow throttle. Four open holes is the easiest draw with the most cooling power over the heating elements.

WHITE AND BLACK (ON/OFF) BUTTONS

The white start button initiates the timer cycle, while the black kill button terminates an active timer cycle.  Instead of using the timer to terminate the heating cycle it is possible to toggle back-and-forth between the white and black buttons to give you complete control over vaporization.  When your concentrate reaches the target temperature press the black kill button to stop the heating process.  Then, after the desired amount of cooling, press the white start button again to reinitiate heating and bring your concentrate back up to the desired temperature.  This technique enables you to control the larger heating elements and tends to be best during a personal session. Please use the black kill button whenever necessary to prevent your concentrate from overheating and forming unwanted compounds in the vapor, especially when vaporizing with the larger single heating elements.

TIMER CYCLE AND DIAL

The first dial mark is 0 and each following dial mark is an additional 10 seconds for a maximum timer cycle of 100 seconds.  As mentioned above, some of the larger heating elements have sweet spots within the 100 second timer cycle and the experience is reproducible by setting the timer cycle dial to your favorite time.  While on the flip-side, using multiple smaller heating elements together may take more than 100 seconds (full timer cycle) or more just to preheat and reach the very onset of vaporization.  Note that REFLUX uses a single-shot timer, so time cannot be added to the heating cycle by pushing the white start button while the previously initiated heating cycle is running.  The heating cycle is either stopped by the expiration of the timer cycle or pushing the black kill button.  When the sweet spot of a heating element configuration is determined to be over 100 seconds (full timer cycle), e.g., 150 seconds, it may be advantageous to set the dial to 75 seconds and run two cycles.  Likewise, if the sweet spot is 240 seconds the time could be reached in three 80 second cycles.  This technique may also be used to time the onset of vaporization.  For example, if you notice that a particular heating element configuration begins generating vapor at 90 seconds, set the timer there and begin inhaling at the start of the second timer cycle.

THERMAL PROTECTOR

REFLUX has a thermal protector to prevent the unit from overheating.  The thermal protector measures the air temperature radiating off the vial.  Larger heating elements will trip the thermal protector more quickly, while smaller heating elements will take more time.  When using multiple smaller heating elements in a Slow-Temp configuration the unit can run upwards of 500 seconds (five full timer cycles) before the thermal protector trips.  It’s okay to push the limits of your REFLUX, but be aware that if the thermal protector trips you have to wait for the unit to cool down before it will refire.  Since Slow-Temp sessions generate an enormous amount of heat over time you may have to wait for a longer period of time for the thermal protector to reset and the unit to return to room temperature when compared to other heating element configurations.  Note that any residual heat left in the unit will affect the time it takes for the thermal protector to trip in a subsequent session.  Please allow the unit to cool between Slow-Temp sessions or risk a premature shutdown.  The unit cools faster with the REACTOR removed. Please operate at room temperature, and always allow REFLUX’s temperature to adjust after being left in a hot or cold car.

TITANIUM MOUTHPIECES

The 10mm and 14mm tapered titanium mouthpieces mate directly with the corresponding glass joints on a pipe or rig for water filtration.

CIRCULAR SILICONE PAD

The circular silicone pad should be used as a cushion between the REACTOR and housing during transportation.  It can also be used to remove a warm vial; however, do not use the circular silicone pad to remove a vial if it is still hot.  Always allow the vial to cool before removing.  Dry paper towels, rags, and cotton shirts can also be used to remove warm vials.

REMOVING HEATING ELEMENTS FROM VIAL

Turn the vial upside down.  If the heating element(s) is stuck to residue in the vial, insert just the vial holding the heating element(s) into the central hole on the top plate of the unit and gently heat the element(s) for a few seconds.  Then dump the heating element(s) onto a safe surface.  Never touch hot heating elements.  NEVER submerge GLOWSTICK heating elements in any liquids and NEVER spray GLOWSTICK heating elements in any liquids.  Note that the characteristics of the residue left behind in the vial after a REFLUX session are an excellent indicator of the purity of the concentrate you vaporized.

CLEANING AND CARE

Clean the housing, REACTOR, vials, whip, and mouthpiece with 90-95% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. The heating elements can generally be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol; however, if a heating element reaches extreme temperatures build-up can sometimes form.  To remove build-up use a fine steel wool, sandpaper (150-400 grit), or emery cloth.  The formation of build-up on the heating element(s) usually signifies that the heating element(s) has been heated to excessive temperatures.

VIAL CLEANING TIP

Soak used vials in 90-99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol overnight, preferably in a 21 ounce Barbicide or equivalent disinfectant jar.  These jars are sold on Amazon and the best vessel for ease of cleaning.  Pull a vial out of the alcohol and allow ~10% of the vial to remain filled with alcohol. Take a paper towel and insert it into the vial and twist the paper towel until the entire vial is fully packed. Twist and remove the paper towel. Then fill ~10% of the vial with clean isopropyl alcohol and insert another/clean end of the used paper towel into the vial and repeat the twisting and packing process.  Pull out the paper towel and the vial is now clean.  It’s always best to use a clean vial for optimal flavor.  New vials are available at www.induxlabs.com.

00  7TEN REFLUX VAPORIZER

VOLTMETER or AMMETER

00  7TEN REFLUX vaporizers are equipped with either a voltmeter or an ammeter.  The voltmeter monitors the voltage of the battery and indicates when the unit should be recharged.  While the ammeter monitors the current that the heating element configuration is drawing.  This gives you an idea of how quickly your concentrate is being heated.  The more amps the faster the heating process.

SELECTOR SWITCH

The selector switch enables either operation, charging of the 00  7TEN REFLUX vaporizer, or charging of an external device through the USB port.  Only one process can be done at a time.  This feature protects the battery.  When the selector switch is pointing vertically upward heating is enabled; when the selector switch is pointing to the right towards the battery charging port charging of the briefcase is enabled; and when the selector switch is pointed to the left towards the USB charger charging of an external device is enabled.

BATTERY/CHARGING

The 00  7TEN REFLUX vaporizer will run for more than two hours on a single charge when using multiple smaller heating elements.  Run time is less when using larger heating elements because they draw more current from the battery.  Even though the battery has a battery management system (BMS), it is strongly recommended to recharge the battery before it dissipates to 12 volts or is fully discharged.  The nominal operating voltage of the battery is 12.8 volts.  Hot and cold temperatures will affect the performance of the LFP battery.  Do not leave a 00  7TEN REFLUX vaporizer in a hot or cold car.  Always operate 00  7TEN REFLUX vaporizers at room temperature.

        Charger Instructions:

1)        Properly connect the battery plug of the charger to the battery connector on the top plate of the 00  7TEN REFLUX vaporizer.

2)        Insert the AC power plug into a wall outlet.

3)        Flip the toggle switch upward so it’s pointed towards the battery connector.  The charger LED indicator light should turn red to indicate charging.

4)        The charger LED indicator light will switch to green when the battery is fully charged.

5)        Unplug the AC power plug and disconnect the battery charger from the battery connector on the top plate of the 00  7TEN REFLUX vaporizer.

Note:  The LED indicator on the charger will be green if the charger is plugged into an AC wall outlet with the battery plug disconnected indicating normal standby status.  In addition, the charger can be used with 100-240V AC wall outlets.

REMOVING THE LID

Rotate the angled end of each hinge pin upward towards the lid and then firmly pull the pins out of the eyelets one at a time.  Reverse the process to reconnect the lid.

Warranty

INDUX LABS warranties REFLUX against defects in material and workmanship under normal use and in accordance with operating instructions for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase by the original purchaser. This Warranty is limited to repairs or replacements of original parts which in the opinion of INDUX LABS are defective in workmanship or material. This Warranty does not cover damage or cosmetic deterioration resulting from accident, dropping the unit, negligent use, misuse, abuse, water/liquid, or unapproved cleaning solvents or abrasives. This includes (but is not limited to) scratches, dents, dings and chemical etching.  Never submerge your REFLUX in water or any other liquid. Any unauthorized alteration of this product will void this Warranty and the owner’s right to operate this product.

The Warranty is only valid when purchased from this website (induxlabs.com) or an Authorized Retailer. The Warranty is non-transferable and shall be void upon transfer of ownership of your REFLUX. In addition, the Warranty is only effective when REFLUX is used in the United States.

The Warranty covers only the REFLUX base unit and internally housed electrical components, and not any items such as (but not limited) to vials, pins, whips, mouthpieces, power cord, and Reactors. INDUX LABS agrees to repair or replace the product at no charge, within the Warranty period, providing that the product is delivered to INDUX LABS in its original package or equivalent protective packaging, fully insured. Purchaser must pay all shipping charges and send the defective item to our address indicated below. Since the Warranty only covers the REFLUX base unit, DO NOT ship or send the vial(s), pin(s), whip(s), mouthpiece(s), power cord and/or Reactor(s) with the REFLUX base unit for service.

If the defective item qualifies for REPAIR UNDER OUR Warranty, we will repair or replace the item and send it back to you free of charge as long as you DO NOT ship vial(s), pin(s), whip(s), mouthpiece(s), and Reactor(s) with the REFLUX base unit. Shipping these items with the REFLUX base unit for Warranty repair instantly voids the Warranty and the owner may incur charges for repair and return shipping. When a product receives warranty service, the Warranty period is amended to either (a) the time remaining on the original two-year Warranty, or (b) 90 days from the date the product is shipped back to you, whichever is longer.

If the defective item does not qualify for Warranty, we will provide you a clear explanation for the refusal of Warranty coverage and send the item back to you free of charge. INDUX LABS reserves the right to refuse a Warranty claim if the defective product shows abnormal signs of damage, wear or usage.

Never use non-INDUX LABS approved pins in the REFLUX! Doing so voids the Warranty.

For all Warranty work, INDUX LABS requires the following information to be submitted with the returned unit to the following address:

INDUX LABS, LLC

1400 Bouldin Ave.

Austin, TX, 78704

And to include:

  1. A copy of the original sales receipt.
  2. Your phone number, email, and address where your REFLUX should be return shipped.
  3. A TYPEWRITTEN, detailed description of the problem.
