This document is meant to help direct new players and Overseers towards some handy community materials/tools for the Fallout 2d20 system. These are suggestions and not an outright examination of the system, but instead more of a recourse page and beginner’s guide. This will hopefully act as a helpful resource page if not provide a helpful framework for players to start.

  1. Consider using some basic safety tools like this, if you don't know your group too well.

  1. Fallout Origin Slide Show, this is a good introduction to the multiple origin options you can pick from for your character and helps outline the difficulty of each origin type, helpful for first time players.

  1. G.O.A.T. handout and Slide Show, this is a fun way for your players to discover what kind of things they may “secretly” may be best at. It's a small test Overseers can give players and score as they do the busy work of making their characters.

  1. Character Builder, this handy tool will help your players quickly and easily build a character and explore any options they may be interested in.

  1. Character Sheet Magazine, If playing in person, players may find this to not only be fun, but extraordinarily helpful as it provides the ability to create a custom character sheet while also providing a quick reference for most rules.

  1. Perk Calculator, this is another tool that lists all the perks in one place and outlines what the player characters can and cannot take.

  1. Grid Based Combat, if players don't want to use the zone system that is in the book, this may be an easy alternative all outlined on a single page. I also made one for vehicles.

  1. Merchant/Trade Calculator may help you look up items as they pop up and when trading with npcs.

GM Prep Tools

This Map Making Guide is a handy tool that you can use to make your very own fallout world map.

I made these GM screens as the official one was not as helpful.

GMs may be interested to take a look at this guide to help them understand what is a good encounter vs a boring one.

This Combat Calculator may help you make an attempt at balanced combat and if nothing else at least give you a framework. There are some Pre-Made Combat Encounters here as well that were made with the same tool.

This Loot Generator is helpful as it makes generating loot an easy process, it is best used with the provided tables. There is also a Leveled Loot Table you can use if you want less left up to chance.

This Creature Builder may help you ball park an enemy that doesn't have an official stat block, while this NPC/Creature Leveler will help you buff up existing ones.

There is a lot more of my stuff here, and the Community Page here.
