Cinnamon Bread

Very moist, savory bread with the perfect touch of cinnamon swirl.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 45-50 minutes

Yield: 1 loaf

Ingredients

½ cup (1 stick) butter, softened

1 cup white sugar

1 egg

1 cup buttermilk (or, 1 cup milk + 1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice)

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

¼ cup white sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

1. Cream together butter, sugar, and egg.

2. Add buttermilk, flour, and baking soda. Mix until just incorporated. It’s okay if there are small lumps in the final mixture.

3. Pour half of the batter into greased loaf pan and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. Pour the rest of the batter into the pan and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture.

4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 - 50 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean. Cool and enjoy!
