(Lesson Focus)

What will the students know or be able to do at the end of the lesson?

ASSESSMENT

How will the students demonstrate that they have accomplished the desired outcome? Please state the question that will be asked during your formative assessment.

STRATEGIES

In what activities will the students be engaged to accomplish the desired outcome? Please list in the

order that you will implement.

3 HOT QUESTIONS

  1. Distribute two equal of up to five manipulatives to pair of children.
  2. Have partners use straws to match objects from one group of manipulatives to the other.
  3. Ask: Which group has more? How many more? Which group has the fewest? How many fewer? What did you do to find out if a group has more or fewer?
  4. Repeat activity with a story and a different number of manipulatives.
