This contest takes place at different levels, your “arrondissement”, your city region (north, south, east and west), the city of Montreal, and Quebec city. At every level you can win a prize from 1K to 25K. You need a business plan and at every level you need to make an oral presentation in front of a jury. Some of us have a lot of experience and are more than happy to help you with that.

STA grant (soutien au travail autonome)

We have inhouse experience and connections!

This is a program of Emploi Quebec. You need to be on welfare or unemployment and have a business idea. You don’t need to have a company already. The funding is attached to the requirement to follow a full year entrepreneurship program. You don’t need to have a business plan, only a sound business idea.

The process requires an first selection with an agent from Emploi Quebec and a second selection with the STA jury, which usually takes place at a local CDEC, where you will need to present your business case in front of the jury.

You need to have a strong business case, present a business plan, and a prototype will help a lot. You don’t need to show sales, but sales potential. You can get up to 30K, but as a rule of thumb expect less than 20K. It is always better to show funding from CDEC or Concours Quebecois en Entrepreneuriat before.

You need to be between 15 and 30 years old. You also need a company affiliated with SENSORICA to sponsor you. Usually the company puts some cash down and the government gives you more, up to 20K for a period of 6 months.

Canada Summer Jobs

Go to website, more info and application here.

This is a program from the federal government. We can use a company member of SENSORICA and even make the case of our revolutionary model.

We do have some help for this! So this is worth trying.
