28th March, 1930.
It is only to-day I have found time to thank you for your kind letter in which you congratulated me on my recent honours.[1] It is always a great delight to me to receive from good friends their well-wishes, and I assure you that I much appreciated your kind thought.
My wife and I both hope that we shall have the pleasure of greeting you one evening here, or at our country home. In any case, we shall look forward to seeing you to-morrow, Saturday, and hope you will be able to come a little before 12 o’clock so that you may be present at the Opening ceremony by Lord Lee of Fareham.[2]
With our united kindest greetings, | Believe me, | Sincerely yours,
