Hello Everyone, and thank you so much for joining in on the #Scarathlon fun. The idea behind it is to create a fun and spooky Halloween reading event for all those who wish to join. There will be two teams. #TeamSlaughter hosted by @Clwojick (Cassandra) and #TeamStoker hosted by @TheReadingMermaid (Tamara). The magnificent @MrBook has also graciously agreed to be our Guest Judge. To be placed on a team, we ask that you first fill out the google form at https://forms.gle/itNdUgk7BTT9twww9 . By using the answers you have submitted, we will compile the teams. We will then tag you in a Litsy post to let you know which team you have been placed with.

Now here's the fun part! The two teams will compete against each other for the month of October by participating in #Scarathlon events, and attempting to get the most points for their team. These points will also go towards a chance to win some wickedly ghoulish prizes.

We will be going with the honor system for this event as we will not be able to double check every single book to make sure it fits relatable theme, so you will each be in charge of tracking your own points. Please tag your hosts @Clwojick and @TheReadingMermaid, always use your team hashtag and include the point total for that specific post (Please refer to the picture below the point system for a suggestion on how to post points). You may want to include your updated point amount on each related post, if you feel like that is an easier way to track. Whatever works best for you, as long as by the end of the month you will know exactly what your total is, and we will be able to follow your calculations. Points will be tallied by our judge @MrBook during the first few days of November, and the final details will be posted as soon as possible.

The Point System:

10 points if you read your teams #BuddyRead

5 points for each book read that is directly related to Halloween

2 points for each book read that falls under your teams subject or theme

1 point for each additional book read, no matter the subject

2 points for each book read during the October #24B4Monday, no matter the subject

1 point for every scary, creepy or ghoulish movie watched - Halloween Classics included

1 point for each participation post in the above events
