4th Annual Joan's Reach Chili Cook Off

The 4th Annual Joan's Reach Chili Cook Off on October 10, 2015 was a huge success, with over 100 attendees and donors, 11 different chili’s, and countless other tasty dishes and desserts!  

Our thanks to everyone that brought food, smiles and appetites to the Chili Cook Off for fun in support of a cause very close to our hearts.  We are honored and tremendously grateful for the generosity of all who attended, as well as those who could not attend but sent generous contributions.  Special thanks to all who made this event possible, including those who helped with preparations, donated material items, and especially our generous sponsors:

We continue to use donations to raise awareness of perinatal hospice and palliative care, and support families that receive a life-limiting prenatal diagnosis.  With funds raised we produce Joan’s Reach bags containing books, brochures and informational materials and distribute them to local healthcare providers and families.  We are committed to ensuring that all families have adequate support and are presented with options when they receive the devastating news that their baby will likely die before or shortly after birth.  This is especially important as prenatal testing becomes more common and advanced.

Our compliments and gratitude to the stars of the event -- the CHILI COOKS -- for your time, talent, enthusiasm for some healthy competition, and impressively delicious recipes.  This year’s competition was so close that only a few votes separated many of the chili’s!  You are truly ALL WINNERS in our eyes.  

Special recognition to our trophy winners:

Joan's Reach Chili Champion 2015 (1st Place Popular Vote) - Siino’s Italian Chili (Chili Italiano) won over the most guests with their flavor and flair!

Most Dedicated Chef 2015 - Dolan Family Bacon & Beef Chili, a very close second in popular votes and a dedicated chili contestant every year!

Most Original 2015 - Sweet and Spicy Chili, with the special ingredient: coffee!

Best Non-Chili 2015 - Original homemade Macaroni and Cheese, a comfort food favorite!

Chili Spirit Award 2014 - RC Landscaping Campfire Chili impressed us with a creative theme and decorations, in addition to delicious chili and s'mores goodie bags!
