Funerals at St. Paul’s

Church funerals are celebrations of the promises made in Christ.  Please contact the church office for a form to get basic information about the service.  The pastor will meet with family members to plan prayers, scriptures, hymns, and other parts of the funeral service.  There is an extra fee for the church organist.

In a usual service, there is an old testament reading, a psalm, a new testament reading, and a Gospel reading.  For a funeral, there are sometimes fewer readings but a Gospel lesson us usually read.  Below are listed some of the commonly used scripture for funerals.  These are just suggestions.  A good way to choose lessons is to look at what is underlined or inserted in your loved one’s personal Bible.
