Leaf Hunt
You will need:
Paper Bag
Trees & Leaves
Take children outside on a nature walk and search for leaves. Give child a paper bag (or a few) to collect their leaves in.
Why Do Leaves Change Color?

How Much Is A Handful?
You will need:
Leaves in a Paper Bag
Paper & Pen
After your leaf hunt, have your child pull a handful of leaves out of the bag. Then ask them to guess how many leaves are in the handful. Document their answer, and have them count the leaves to see how close their guess was!
Handprint Tree
You will need:
Paper
Paint
Have your child paint or draw a large tree trunk with branches on paper. Then have them place their hands in paint and make “leaf” handprint on the tree. Use different fall colors such as red, orange, yellow, purple and fill the tree branches with handprint leaves.
Leaf Rubbings
You will need:
Leaves
Paper or Wax Paper
Crayons
Have child place leaves under a piece of paper. Then have them use a crayon to color over the place where the leaf is to create a leaf rubbing. Use different colored crayons.
Sensory Box:
Leaves, Buckeyes, Acorns & Pinecones
Go outside and jump in a pile of leaves!
