MUSEE RODIN
77, Rue de Varenne, 77
Dear Mr. de Laszlo,
I am here in London for a few days, since I said good-bye to you since the day I bid you farewell on the eve of the tragic events that unfolded across the world, particularly in our country. I have not had the opportunity to set foot in England again. I cannot receive you there without thinking of you and offering you my friendship and grateful remembrance.
I have endured all the tribulations

that you have unjustly gone through, but I have never doubted your loyalty to your adopted country, and I suspect that you may well have been, like all those who are talented and successful, the victim of envy.
I will be here for about another week with my youngest daughter, and if possible I would like to go with news of you, of Madame de Laszlo and your children, by repeating to myself everything I am writing to you so imperfectly
Your devoted
