Mahavir Jayanti Celebration
Ready for another exciting event this year? The bar gets raised higher every time. This year’s celebration should be no different. The Mahavir Jayanti Celebration program is scheduled to be on April 20th. Planning is already underway and all involved are gearing up for another great event.
Mahavir Jayanti is one of the largest events sponsored by JSCNC, is open to everyone and demonstrates the unity and generosity of JAIN community. As an interesting note, last year’s event attracted approximately 350 participants, volunteers and guests!
The Executive committee puts in a lot of planning to cater for such an event, but your support is what really makes this program a grand success.
Taking part in the stage program is not the only way to participate/support. We are looking for volunteers and pledgers alike to help in many other ways. Here are some ways you can help:
A Great Thank you to all those who have already signed up to volunteer. To the volunteers, participants and all involved, we humbly ask that you provide your full cooperation to Program Directors and Choreographers. This will help tremendously to plan and execute this program smoothly. If there are any issues or concerns, please contact the President, Anand Shah.
Mahavir Jayanti Program Practice
Practices will be held during Pathshala sessions. As such, there will be no Pathshala until after the Mahavir Jayanti Program. Please see the Pathshala Corner for complete information.

We would like to thank Ketan & Neha Kuruwa for their generous sponsorship of the awards for this competition. For more information on this competition, please visit the Pathshala Corner below.
As mentioned in previous emails (Youth Pathshala dues), this year we are asking the dues be paid to JSCNC directly. We will collect and pass them on to HSNC. Note that, if you have direct auto-payments to HSNC already for this purpose, you do not have to pay twice.
To make payments, please bring a check (payable to JSCNC) to the Feb 16th Monthly meeting, or mail to Pratyush Mehta. Full information and instructions can be found at http://jscnc.org/Youth_Pathshala_Dues_2014.php.
A reminder, that the JSCNC 2014 calendar is now online. Please visit http://www.jscnc.org and click Events. The calendar has the most up-to-date listing of all confirmed activities for the year. All the tithis (Lunar Days) are also posted on the online calendar. Here is a list of some key dates:
We are excited to announce yet another first! For the first time ever, the Vardhmaan class held an essay competition with all 15 students participating in the competition. The topic of the essay was “Anekantvad”. The students were allowed one month to research and type up the essay. An unbiased panel of judges has been selected to evaluate the essays. Student names will remain hidden from the judges. Winners and awards will be announced shortly.
