RESOURCE GUIDE FOR UNT STUDENTS

The Denton Grassroots Water Crew is coordinating local mutual aid in the Denton area. They have been amazing at coordinating resources to areas of need and helping connect individuals to specific resource needs. They started with collecting water and have quickly expanded their reach. The Denton Grassroots Water Crew is coordinating this tomorrow (Tuesday 2/23).  Please respond on their page if you can help tomorrow.

Denton area folx:

Operation Airdrop will arrive tomorrow to provide disaster relief to Denton and Denton County. They need  help getting our community covered with water, food and essentials. Randi Skinner is working on a more formal post, but for now they will need:

25 volunteers from 12-4pm, Tuesday 2/23

25 volunteers from 4-8pm, Tuesday 2/23

*MASKS REQUIRED.

Please comment on the FB page for the Denton Grassroots Water Crew if you can commit to helping tomorrow.  More details coming.

Cooperation Denton is coordinating mutual aid throughout the DFW area. They've been a great resource to people needing to meet basic needs this week.

The Denton Feed Our Neighbors Project is a private Denton group that lets people post their specific food needs and people have been pretty great at reaching out with resources that they can share. This has been operating for the past few months.

The UNT Food Pantry has increased their hours and outreach. Twitter seems to be the best place to follow them: @UNTPantry. The UNT Food Pantry is opening for full-time faculty and staff members from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23 through Friday, Feb. 26. Staff will need to bring their ID to the Food Pantry through the back entrance of Crumley Hall (dock entrance). They will have bags ready to hand out. Masks and social distancing will be required.

The Denton Wesley Foundation Shilo Food Pantry has been coordinating food distributions to students. This is right by Maple Hall.

The Denton Natatorium has opened up their showers for people to use if their water is out. They just started this today from 1-5 and I'm looking for the update of what their hours will be this week.
