REALTournament 2v2 MGE Rules

Sponsored by KaraBear and others… (you?)

  1. In-Game
  1. Map
  1. The default map will be mge_training_v8_beta4b.
  2. If both teams want to play on an older or newer version of the map, that’s fine.
  1. Whitelist-  http://whitelist.tf/custom_whitelist_2602.txt
  1. The default whitelist will be stock weapons, reskins, guboats, escape plan.
  2. If both teams want to play with a broader or more restrictive whitelist, they can agree on a different whitelist.
  1. Best of three (first to two) arenas.
  2. What arenas you will play
  1. The default arena for each series will be posted on the challonge brackets.
  2. If both teams agree to start on a different arena, they are welcome to.
  3. After the first arena, the loser of the last arena picks the next stage.
  1. If you play a full game on a non-default map or whitelist, don’t expect the admins to override it. Stop the game if you notice the enemy team doing anything sketchy.
  1. Out-of-Game
  1. Match Scheduling
  1. The match must be COMPLETED within the time listed on the calendar, so give yourself time to play.
  2. Every time a new group of matches is created, information for all captains will be posted in the challonge bracket. It is crucial that you get in contact with the team that you are playing against to schedule your match.
  3. If there is a small scheduling issue, you can feel free to talk to an admin to help sort it out.
  4. There will be some leniency on the deadlines, but not much. Don’t expect a push-back every single round.
  5. If a team or teams neglect scheduling the match, the admins will make a decision on which team or teams will be disqualified from the tournament or put as a FFL.
  1. Server Scheduling
  1. There will only be 1 official game server for this event (in Dallas) and it should be used only in the event of having no other options.
  2. It is recommended that it records and STV and SS to settle disputes.
  3. If you need a server to play in, it is prefered that you schedule it in advance with one of the admins. Server availability is first-come first-serve(r).
  4. To schedule a server, post a message in the group chat. We will do our best to get to it as soon as possible.
  5. Server scheduling will be in 45 minute blocks.
  1. Mumble Sign-ups
  1. If you want a private mumble channel, message one of the admins in the steam group chat or talk to them in the mumble if they’re idling there. They’ll make one within a minute or two.
  2. There will be several public rooms to use if you need a place in a hurry and no admins around, but there is no stopping people from jumping in and distracting you.
  1. Match Reporting
  1. The winning team captain will post the game number, the winning team name, and the score in group chat.
  2. If you do not report the match score in time, one or both teams may be disqualified. (admin decision)
  1. Dispute Handling
  1. Don’t be a dick. Report what happened. If not, you won’t be playing in any of these tournaments ever again.
  2. If the enemy team reports the wrong score, your team captain should either post in the group chat or message KevinIsPwn.
  1. Prizes
  1. The prizes are provided by various community members and sponsors. It would suck if these prizes fell through, but KevinIsPwn and the other admins will not be responsible for compensation of any prizes. This will almost certainly not happen, and it shouldn’t be a worry.
  2. Prizepot
  1. The prizepot info will be announced soon. As of 12/30/14, there is $220 cash in the prizepot, along with a few keys. This number will most likely rise over the coming weeks, but there’s no guarentee.
  1. Methods of receiving prizes
  1. KevinIsPwn will get in contact with you and send your prizes.
  2. Each main teammate will receive exactly half of the prize awarded to their team. If your team has backups, it will be the team’s responsibility to sort that out (if you want to sort it out at all). If your team wishes for all winnings to be given to one person, they can do that. Everyone has to agree to that, though.
  3. I (Kevin) will send the keys, and I will forward you to the people who have donated the cash prizes. Those people will give you that prize money directly.
