MINISTERELNÖKSÉG

Budapest.

3. November 1928.

My dear Philip!

I just received the November Number of Woman’s Journal, and we all admired very much the beautiful portrait of The Marchioness of Milford Haven [3491]. It is most beautiful in colouring and very noble in pose. I must very heartily congratulate you for this new success. Charlie[1] and I, we went yesterday afternoon to pay a visit to the old journalist veteran Eugen de Rákosí[2] in his villa on the Naphegy. The old Gentleman is celebrating on the 10th of November his 86th birthday. He was received by Mussolini[3] and he wrote an article, which didn’t meet the approval

of the legitimists in the King [Election?]. Count Bethlen[4] the Prime Minister got a bad influenza. He c’ant [sic] receive anybody for two weeks. Now he is already better. I just got  a telegram from Sam Guinness[5] telling me his friend Vickers is arriving to-day to Budapest. I shall look after him. I like very much the sketch you made from Rákosí [6729]. It is very characteristic. I remain now in Budapest. My wife and Charlie are going probably in January to Sanct. Moritz. I am very busy in my office, as I got in August the Appointment “State-Secretary”. The Regent[6] received me other day in a long audience and I thanked for this favour. Hope you are not tired from your busy days in Paris. How happy I would be to see your recent pictures in April in Paris.

Our best wishes to dear Lucy. Do believe me to be yours very truly

Stephen Bárczy

The Scitovskys [sic][7] are now in London.
