Arjun freezes Dur's right foot, he manages to break free, Arjun next freezes him till his hip, Due breaks it with his gadh. Arjun freezes him up till his neck. Duty is helpless, Arjun makes him lose his gadh too. Drona proudly announces Arjun the winner of the competition. Sakuni, Dhrid and Ashu are unhappy. Drona also says that not only Arjun is the best among the princes he is the best in the world. At that moment a sound is heard as people look on an arrow comes and unfreezes Dury. While everyone are surprised, Krn makes his entry.( note the brilliance of the conception of the script writers.. Arjun, son of Indra uses water to defeat his opponent, Karen, son of the sun uses fire to release the prince)
Karn is asked who he is. Karn says that Arjun should fight with him to prove that he is the best. Drona says the competition is between kuru princes. Karn says he thought he competition is over. Now he wanted to prove that he is better than the kuru prince.
Sakuni intervenes and is about to say that the competition should happen... Arjun finishes it for Sakuni.
Vidur expresses his concern to raj guru and raj guru goes to the rescue of the situation karn asks Drona who is lost in thought why he is not letting his student fight with him. Is he not confident of his student or the knowledge imparted to him. Drona recognises/remembers the boy.
Rajguru comes forward and says that a king can fight only with a king or prince, a prince with only a prime minister or a prince... a pm with only another pm or a commander in chief... there is hierarchy which has to be followed. He asks Karn to introduce himself.
Karn is quiet. Drona asks kripa not to compel the man to give answers if he is not willing, if he is ashamed to reveal that... Karn denies being ashamed and proudly introduces himself as a sarathi's son. Everyone are shocked that he is a man from a lowly caste. They deny him the right to compete with a prince. Karn asks what does his talent have to do with his birth. No one agrees. His father comes down to him and asks him leave from there. The crowd boo's him to go away. Karn sees his parents bitterly crying. Bheem too mocks at him.
Karn leaves dejectedly. Duty who is watching all this looks for a moment at his mama and stops Karn. He asks the raj guru how Ravan was allowed to fight with Ram. RG says Ravan was a king of Lanka then. Dury asks if Karn is made a king hen will he be let to compete with Arjun.. everyone are stunned. Even karn is stunned... (thus started a great friendship...)
Duryodhan declares karn as the king of Ang pradesh, sushen ask to not give such gift to them but duryodhan says that every gud warrior is his friend. Bhishm says that duryodhan dnt have any right to gift even an inch of land to any1, shakuni contradict it n says that if not duryodhan than DR surely have right to fulfill his sons' wish, DR declares karn as Ang's king, it shocked pandavas n sum other people.
Shakuni gave knife to duryodhan, he cut his thumb to do tilak n takes pledge that he'll keep this promise till death, karn was overwhelmed, he bow down to duryodhan n says that he'll always be loyal to them as a token of respect they given them, duryodhan says that they are frnds now n than ask karn to compet.
Arjun was luking at drona, shakuni taunt him if he has sum doubt of his being a kshatriye, duryodhan says it can be possible as thr r sum stories saying that they are not from thr clan, kunti got angry on that, as well as pandavas, kunti says that if arjun is her son, he'll surely accept thz challenge, he'll prefer death over tolerating thz insult of his father. Fight starts, both were of same caliber, DR ask sanjay abt the same n got same reply, he want the decision to cum before sunset.
Both were using gud tactics against each other n after few minutes, bcoz of arjun's arrow karn's sheild gets visible, kunti was in shock as she remembers him n within seconds she faints. Her maid n dushala takes her inside in the meanwhile karn shot the arrow but arjun noticed the sunset so she dnt shot any n caught it n throws on ground, he walk towards karn n says that the competition is over, the sun has set, karn says that if darkness is his limit, arjun says no but its sunset n if in order to prove his caliber n capabilities he need to follow adharama, he dnt want to prove it n karn need not to worry he's a king now, he'll get many opportunities to fight.
Scene changed, kunti was dreaming abt karn in her uncounciousness, n wake up worryng for him, she share it to priyamvada, but she says that it will only bring defame for her 5 sons.
Karn is at home resting his head on his mother's lap expressing his content in doing so. His mother is happy seeing his face after long time but is unsettled by the events of the evening. His foster father comes in asking his wife to look at her son's happy face once for all as he would be leaving soon to accomplish his duties. Karn asks his foster parents if they aren't coming with him. They at that they are not. He tries to persuade them but they are adamant. Karn finally gets his mom to adorn his with his crown and leaves after getting their blessing.
Kunti is again being advised by priyamvada to not reveal anything to her five sons. She promises her friend. She walks away when she is confronted by Bheem who carries her back to her room.. All the P bros one in and they have a happy reunion. Kunti says she was o proud of all of them. They say hat they lost. Kunti says that they went by the norms and made her feel proud. The talks turn to how the younger ones were looked after by Bheem and Arjun says how the five were like five fingers of the fist. Nakul teases Bheem saying that Bheem is the thumb. Bheem says that thumb is the most important of all and he is happy that he got to be thumb. Sahadev says Arjun is the best in archery. Bheem jovially goes to hit Sahadev when yudi says if Arjun is best in Archery, Bheem is best n gadh... their strentgh lies in unity. Kunti agrees happily. Bheem asks for laddoo and kunti promises to make them. Yuri asks her not strain as he heard she lost conscious at the arena. Kunti again remebbers Karn and is lost for words. Priyamvada intervenes and says its because she was anxious of the outcome of the contest. P brothers wonder who she is, Kunti introduces her. Priyamvada says even though Kunti has 5 sons who are warriors, she is still worried, indirectly hinting Kunti, stressing on 5. Kunti replies back in crypt saying she is a mother how can she not feel what she feels... Ghee reminds kunti of laddoo and Yuri says that they have to first meet the other elders and thy all leave. Kunti is lost in thoughts and then tells her friend that she needs to meet Karn. Priyamvada starts to say no but Kunti says she agreed not to say anything to her other sons but she needs to meet Karn.
Kunti meets Karn on the palace entrance and both look at each other not able to comprehend the pull. The screen freezes on Kunti's sad face as Karn looks on
1. Karn and Kunti meet. Karn wishes to take blessings from Kunti, He offers her his respects, Kunti says that he and Arjun are the best archers. He corrects her, he is better that Arjun. The Pandavas also arrive. Karn and Pandavas (read Arjun) get into an argument.
2. Arjun says that they can never take his place as his place is with Duryodhan. Sahadev joins his brother to taunt Karn. Kunti asks him to show respect as Karn is like his brother.
3. Bheem says that Karn is a brother just like Duryodhan is and he knows what kind of brothers they are. Yudishtra asks everyone to maintain the respects in their speech. Karn warns Arjun that he will be the end of Arjun one day. The brothers get angry, take their mother away. Bheem crushes the flower that was offered to Kunti before leaving, Karn leaves in the opposite direction
4. At the king's court, Dhiritrastra welcomes his sons lovingly. We get a glimpse of Dushasan. Dhritrastra expresses his happiness at how Duryodhan has turned out much to the annoyance of Bhishm pitamahan.
5. The Pandavas also come there and Duryodhan and the five pandu putr get into an argument again at who won the competition.
6. Duryodhan says he is the best as he won against 4 of the pandu putr. Bheem comes forward and says that maybe they should have a competition again as what happened was just a trial.
7. Dhritrastra says the competition is over. Bhishm pitamahan joins him and says him that in fact they were all happy to see the skills of the princes but this competition will in no way decide who gets the throne. He puts a full stop to the issue inspite of Sakuni's instigations.
1. Krishna's sister Subadra comes to visit Hastinapur. Meets her Buaji, Kunti. She also happens to be Dushala's friend. Arjun and Subadra exchange glances while passing each other.
2. A small nokjhok between Arjun, Bheem and Kunti. Bheem wants to sit beside Kunti, Kunti says it is ladies side. Arjun teases his brother about getting something to eat, and Bheem take it jovially and they move on.
3. There is a sangeet happening. People stand around and watch. Dushala and Subadra are also spectators. Yudishtra comes there with his youngest brothers and they get introduced to Subadra. They ask about Krishna. Dhushala says that Subadra can play veena very nicely. Arjun arrive there. Nakul notices that Subadra and Arjun are exchanging more than customary glances and introduces Subadra to Arjun. Arjun raises his eyebrows in recognition.
4. Bheem also arrives there and he also notices the attraction between Arjun and Subadra. Nakul and Bheem nudge Arjun to play veena, they tell Subadra that Arjun can play veena too. Arjun is reluctant at first but relents finally and starts playing Veena.
5. Duryodhan and Karn arrive there with three other Kauravas and they also watch Arjun playing veena. Duryodhan sees Subadra watching Arjun with admiration and smirks. Everyone clap for Arjun and Duryoshan starts to taunt Arjun, he also throws his jewel telling Arjun that this was the gift for his performance. Sakuni also arrives there.
6.Arjun and Duryodhan pass some comments against each other. Karn says may be he should learn dancing also, it will help him to persue girls as his Archery might not be upto the mark to impress the girls.
7. Arjun gets angry and raises his dragger to attack Karn. Bhishm Pitamahan and Mahamandri Vidur arrive there. Sakuni starts to taunt Arjun's behavior. Maharaj Dhirtrastra comes there and asks what happened. Sakuni puts it in a way which plainly says that Arjun was disrespectful to AngRaj. Gandhari says may be they were playing. Sakuni says that Karn and Arjun aren't friends not are they brothers to play like that. He demands Mahamandri Vidur to give judgement. Vidur keeps quiet.
8. Dhiritrastra reprimands Arjun and quiets him when he opens his mouth to explain. He asks for forgiveness to AngRaj. Karn deems it unnecessary. Duryodhan says that Arjun's behavior needs to be punished. Dhritrastra says yes, for his behavior, Arjun should walk out of the rajya.
Dritarashtra stated that if it was possible they would have dismissed Arjun from the state but as he was his dear brother's son he cannot punish him. He asked Vidur to take decision on his behalf. Vidur said if only Karna forgives Arjun then Arjun wont have to go through any punishment.
Everyone along with Kunti waited for Karna to speak. Duryodhan stated that Karna would only forgive him if Arjun wash his feet leaving everyone stunned. Duryodhan asked Vidur to give order to Arjun.
Karna hesitated initially not willing to let Arjun do the same but agreed just seeing his beloved friend's face while colour from Arjun's face drained and his brother stood helplessly.
Arjun did as asked, washed Karna's feet. Duryodhan and Shakuni got sadistic pleasure. Despite of knowing the truth, Kunti only shedded her tears without uttering a single word.
Arjun apologized folding his palms in front of Karna.
Dritarashtra declared that he was done with his dinner and that he wont have as the allotted time is wasted.
He declared that tomorrow he would declare the new prince of hastinapur.
Pandava's were discussing over the matter when they were alone. Nakul said Arjun was bullied so that they don't have any say in the shabha. Yudhisthira said a price is appointed only if he deserves and Bhima said if they get the kingdom by war he was ready to do it. He said he cannot forget the insult of Arjun. Yudhisthira said which whom he wanted to war with his own family and brothers? Yudhisthira said whatever maharaj dritarashtra decides it will be full and final.
Kunti was very upset and her soul was crying because one of his son was punished by his own brother. Her dasi said they dindot even know that they are brothers, they think they are enemies and when the time comes he will take his revenge. Kunti said it will be unbearable for her to see both her sons fighting.
Arjun came in the right moment with Kunti was crying. He took her tears and bath himself stating that he needs to take bath because for him his mother cried. Despite of Kunti assuring him that he was not at fault he refused to accept. He said he lost his patients and it was his mistake. Kunti had to smiled seeing her son's distress. Arjun hugged her.
The epi starts with our hero Arjun ensuring if his mom is really happy. She confirms that she is happy. He then walks off to bhishm who is lost in thoughts. He pays his respects to his great grand father. Bhishm is dissapointed that because of his impatience he lost his chance at a prospective throne. Arjun says that he has four other brothers can he can fight for the throne. But bhism says then he would have to fight with him first as he will always fight for Hastinapur.
He leaves asking Arjun to pray. Krishna gives his gyan on what praying to god actually means,
Ashwathaman comes with a really funny smile to his father and says that his friendship with Duty will bear its fruit soon. Drona breaks his hteart and smile by saying that Duty will not become the king. Ashwathama says that Dhrit is going to make him the crown prince tomorrow. Drona again confuses him talking about rights.
At the corridor Duryodhan his highly reduced in number of brothers and his two friends are having a chat. Duryohan says the man who is making his statue to make it the biggest. That man says he was ordered to make similar statues for everyone.
Duryodhan says then his should be placed above all others and whose will be placed just under his feet. Karn says his should be.. Duty says that he won't let that happen... he treats all friends equally.. that position under him will be reserved for his rivals. Ashwathaman notices the arrival of the inseperable five and passes a taunting comment. Duty and Karn catch on.. Bheem gets angry, but Yudistra manages to stop him. Each of the five get their screen space trying to show their fury... (but failing miserably in acting) and they finally walk away.
Gandhari is doing her favorite pastime, near the Shivling. By the way, due to space constraints, Krishna and Shiva have decided to share the set... did you all notice?
When she is praying, a knife falls near her and her creepy brother follows. He says that his long time desire is going to get fulfilled. With his nephew becoming crown prince gandhar will win. Gandhari mid understands her brother first but he explains that his rivalry is with bhishm and he would be defeating bhishm forever if Duryodhan comes to power.
At the court everyone is looking expectantly at the king. Vidur announces that the kings decision to choose a crown prince will come after bhishm gives his speech. Sakuni is confused but Duryodhan assures him that nothing is going to happen with blessings speech.
Bhishm gets up to speak,
Episode begins with everyone in Hastinapur's sabha, waiting to hear who will be crowned Yuvraj. Bhishma stands up and makes a speech. He goes down memory lane, reminiscing about the childhood of Dhitrashta, Pandu and Vidhur, which makes Dhritrashta emotional. Everyone listening also gets teary eyed, except for Kaurvas and Shakuni.
After Bhishma finishes, Vidhur asks Dhritrashtra to make the announcement. Dhrit stands up but starts to remember when Pandu spoke of Dhirt being his biggest inspiration.
He says there is a difficult choice in front of him and that he has always wanted the most worthy prince to be crowned Yuvraj.
Suddenly Duryodhan interrupts and tells Dhrit that everyone is waiting for his decision.
Dhrit is just about to declare which prince he has chosen to be Yuvraj, but Drona comes into the sabha and stops him.
Drona apologises for the interruption but says he has come to request Dhrit that he does not choose any of his students to be Yuvraj. Everyone looks confused
Vidhur smiles and explains to Dhrit that the princes have not paid their fees to Drona. He wants his guru dakshina from them.
Dhrit asks what Drona wants as his fee. Drona says he wants the princes to use their skills to obtain his fee, and wants to see which student of his is the most worthy. Vidhur agrees, saying it is best if Drona decides the most worthy prince so that nobody can say they are being partial.
Shakuni leaps from his seat and asks why they must keep testing the princes to see who is worthy. Shakuni and Vidhur argue over this, Shakuni says the princes already took part in a competition, but Vidhur replies that there was no winner.
Dhirtrashta agrees with Vidhur and Drona (for once!!) and Shakuni looks annoyed
Vidhur asks Drona what he wants but Shakuni again interrupts saying that Drona will be partial to one prince. Drona gets angry and says a teacher never takes sides. Drona says forget one prince, he wonders if all of them together will be able to fulfil it.
Drona tells the sabha he wants revenge for his insult. He declares that he wants the King of Panchal, Drupad at his feet. Drona says he was insulted by his friend Drupad in the Panchal sabha.
Dhrit shouts that this isn't possible. His sons won't be able to defeat such an experienced and powerful warrior like Drupad (you're right Dhrit they won't... but it'll be fun for us to watch them try!)
Dhrit tells Drona to ask for something else.
Drona says he'll only take revenge, otherwise he wants nothing. Drona says it doesn't matter... he will look for warriors from another kingdom to help him get revenge.
As he turns to leave, Drona tells Dhrit to find his Yuvraj from another kingdom as well
Suddenly Arjun asks Drona to stop.
1. Arjun stops Guru Dron and agrees to avenge, Duryodhan and his brothers also say they will do it for the Guru, finally King Dhritrastra agrees.
2. King Draupad is shown with only his head above the ground. He is told about the news of Hastinapur getting ready for the war, He says that anyone who tries to do so will be buried in the soil just like he had buried one other enemy of his. Dron will also meet the same end
3. Karn is supervising the preparations of the war. Duryodhan and Karn express their trust on each other and they go to meet Sakuni for discussing about war. On the way they meet Bheem who breaks Duryodhan's statue and taunts Duryodhan if his real self was better than his statue.
4. Subadra comes to meet Arjun. Arjun pulls her leg a bit and after pleasantaries, she gives him a box which contains five blue stones. She tells that Krishna had asked her to give him the same. She seems rather upset with the news that Arjun will be upfront in the war
5. The pandavas are blessed by Kunti and Yudishtra assures her that they will bring victory
6. Duryodhan also gets blessings from his parents. Sakuni and Duryodhan convince King Dhritrastra again that Bhishm and Vidur are playing games with his mind and he shouldn't listen to them. Sakuni also reminds him about Amba. Duryodhan gets blessings from his Mama also and gets ready for war
1. All the kuru princes come down. Guru Dron gives his instructions, notices Karn amongst the princes and asks Duryodhan if he isn't confidant enough and if he is not, he can go back to the palace. The kuru princes leave Karn and go for the war. Kunti watches heart broken Karn.
2. The Pandavas and Gauravas are seen preparing for the war in separate groups. Pandavas have a lighter moment were they tease Bheem
3. Gauravas discuss how to break chakravyu. No one knows it or is confident enough. Ashwathaman suggest getting help from Arjun. Duryodhan denies. He says that the war is being fought not for winning Draupad, but to win Pandavas.
4. Shikandi, the senapathy of Panchal is shown practicing. Draupad comes and announces the war and says that Shikandi will get a chance to fulfill his birth karma.
5. Shikandi slays a statue of Bhishm and the flashback of Amba is shown. The birth of Shikandini and her birth reason is shown. Shikandi screams out to the sky, calling out Bhishm, having revenge in mind.
