Dear Mr. Winchester,
With regard to your letter of the 25th inst. I would like to know, before acting in any way with reference to Sir Robert Gresley – what work it was that you did for him, as if it was something to do with the Exhibition I am afraid I should be responsible for it.[1]
I have been waiting for some weeks for a cheque from Sir Charles Markham,[2] and even after writing a second time I have heard nothing from him. I do hope he will soon do his duty.
Regarding the Exhibition I have not yet made any decision at all, but I hope shortly to talk with you about it.
