This prop appears in the game unlit, and the player can lit it with their torch. This triggers something to happen - a platform begins moving or similar. The way this works is not visible and is assumed to be a hidden mechanism or magic.

Braziers (for coals or wood) seem the most classical choice for large ornamental stone fire lamps, but making it an oil lamp (as in the second inspiration photo) (cresset?) might be preferable as the wick directs the player’s attention to the fact that they could light it up. My placeholder has a wick and it successfully made players understand it could be lit without any instructions. This understanding is crucial to retain. But I’m open to suggestions.
