Minesweeper Online “Talents” System
Upgrades, Stats & Specialisations Overview
Talents are specialized skills / upgrades that either give you more rewards from a specific playstyle or provide generic buffs that apply to all games. Activating all talents is practically impossible. It is hence paramount to select a combination of talents that best suits your preferred playstyle.
There are three specialisations, which are categories or tiers of talents. Each locks you into a specific set of talents to choose from. Higher-tier specialisations provide more potent buffs, but each one is also much more expensive.
Each talent can be upgraded several times. The limit depends on specialisation: 10 for Ensign, 8 for Commodore, and 4 for Admiral. The provided buff mostly scales linearly, with a few exceptions listed in italics. The upgrading cost scales linearly (after Lv 1) and is listed below each specialisation.
You can reset talents for free once a month. Resetting talents again costs 10 honour points per spent talent point. For example, a reset will cost you 100 honour points if you have 13 talent points available but only distributed 10 of them. There is no limit on the number of times you can reset your talents but you will quickly run out of honour points if you do it too often.
While we tried our best to verify all numbers experimentally, some things may change overnight as the talent system is still rather new. As such, please do not hesitate to contact us if you find any discrepancies between the listed buffs and the actual behavior of your talents.
There are two ways to get talent points: Earn them (via accumulating experience), or buy them (with in-game resources, i.e. minecoins or honor points).
The amount of experience needed to get another talent point depends on your current experience range. The following table summarizes talent point milestones.
Experience Range | Experience per Talent Point | Cumulative Talent Points |
20M+ | 1M | 120+ |
10M..20M | 500k | 100..120 |
7M..10M | 300k | 90..100 |
5M..7M | 200k | 80..90 |
2.5M..5M | 250k | 70..80 |
1.5M..2.5M | 100k | 60..70 |
1M..1.5M | 50k | 50..60 |
700K..1M | 30k | 40..50 |
450K..700K | 25k | 30..40 |
250K..450K | 20k | 20..30 |
100K..250K | 15k | 10..20 |
0..100K | 10k | 0..10 |
Talent points can be purchased according to the following formulas:
Honor Points: 1st TP costs 1,000 HP, increment 50 HP, so 2nd is 1,050, 3rd is 1,100, etc, up to a maximum (stops increasing after that) of 5,000 HP.
Minecoins: 1st TP costs 50,000 MC, increment 1,000 MC, so cost goes 50k, 51k, 52k, etc, up to a maximum of 330,000 MC.
You only have a few talent points. Spend them somewhat equally on Foresight, Versatility, and Lucidity from Ensign (generic experience, minecoins, and gems bonuses).
Adrenaline and Leadership from Commodore, or Escalation from Admiral, effectively multiply during the friend quest events (February, June, October). Escalation is better if and only if you can afford it. For example, Adrenaline(3) + Leadership(3) is better than Escalation(1) if you cannot afford Escalation(2) yet. Detailed comparison. If doing Adrenaline + Leadership, put the residual in Precision(1) to add daily quests for more activity.
Persistent from Commodore stacks multiplicatively with your Topaz bonus.
Max out Entropy and collect login rewards daily.
If at the end of the month you’ve saved your free reset, use it before the season ends and maximize your season rewards: put all talent points into either Redemption (from Admiral), or Uncompromising (from Commodore) if you do not have enough talent points yet. Then re-spec to your preferred everyday talents as soon as the next season starts.

[1] Game rewards include experience, minecoins, gems, arena tickets, activity, and event points. Game rewards include experience, arena tickets, and event points earned from lost games. This appears to stack multiplicatively with existing equipment bonus. Game rewards do not include arena coins and other rewards earned upon arena completion.
[2] 📕Quests have a range of levels depending on your 📕Rank. The listed buff applies to the top end of your quest level range. The bottom end is increased roughly by half of the listed buff. Some players reported bugs in this behavior that have since been patched. Please reach out to us if you suspect that something is still wrong with quest levels.
[3] The bonus increases linearly in mine density ranges [20%, 25%), [25%, 30%), [30%, 35%). For example, on a board with 22.14% mine density Steadfast(1) provides 2% + (4% - 2%) * (22.14% - 20%) / (25% - 20%) = 2.856% more rewards.
[4] This also applies to games in arenas like Speed NG, Hardcore NG, and event arenas with NG games.
[5] This is an additive reward that is apparently unaffected by your equipment bonus.
[6] The buff affects rewards in custom multiplayer games too.
