Youth and Family Services Bureau (YFSB) YFSB provides crisis intervention, and short term individual and family counseling. Families must have children between the ages of 8-18 who are displaying delinquent behaviors or have been identified as at-risk.  YFSB also works with HUSD staff to provide intervention services for students. Services are free for residents of the city of Hayward.

Parent Project:

The Parent Project is a 10-16 week Parent Training for parents who have students that are challenged with issues such as: gang involvement, drugs, and truancy. The goal of this project is to reduce family conflict, juvenile crime, improve student performance, attendance, and overall family unit.

Seneca:

 Intensive therapeutic behavioral health services provided to youth and their families. Seneca outpatient at Hayward High is a school-based service that provides therapy and case management with students and families. The goal of this service is to support children and their families in attaining successful life and educational outcomes. This is a Medi-cal driven service granted by the county with a handful of non medi-cal spots available.

Kaiser Permanente Northern California Community Benefit Grants Program: Kaiser Permanente’s community involvement uniquely pairs grant funding with 65 years of clinical expertise, medical research, and volunteerism to support prevention-focused, evidence-based programs that are expanding access to care and creating health environments. Kaiser Permanente recently awarded Seneca Family of Agencies a grant that will help people in this community get access to the resources they need to lead a healthy life.

Crisis Support Services:

Providing therapeutic services to students at school to reduces barriers to therapy that may occur due to social stigma or lack of transportation or childcare. Common experiences of students served included loss, trauma, violent environments, substance abuse, family conflict, incarceration of parents and minimal supports.

Project Eden: 

This service is a prevention program, striving to keep young people from beginning to use alcohol and other drugs. Counselors offer psycho educational support groups. Students are referred by faculty, staff, parents or themselves for education and counseling on issues such as the negative effects of using alcohol and other drugs, communication skills, conflict resolution, decision making, goal setting, and anger management.

Restorative Justice Resources:

Restorative Justice is focused on the belief that those who caused and were affected by harm can work together to repair it and that this collaboration leads to true accountability. Restorative practices take incidents that might otherwise result in punishment and create opportunities for students to become aware of the impact of their behavior; understand the obligation to take responsibility for their actions and take steps toward making things right.

Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center:

TVHC provides comprehensive primary care services (health care options). TVHC School Based/School Linked Health Services provide a wide range of programs that include individual counseling and case management, access to sex education and prevention, individual, group and peer health education, after school activities and role modeling, health outreach, crisis intervention and peer-to-peer social support.

Student Success Coaching (HPN):

resources for students who are experiencing attendance and punctuality difficulties, and who may be experiencing academic difficulty.  I provide individual advising for students, address stress reduction and teach relaxation techniques. The goal for HPN is to have every student be successful at Hayward HS.
