Hon. Dom Costa

6808 Greenwood Avenue

Pittsburgh, PA 15206

Dear Representative Costa,

As your constituents in the 21st Pennsylvania State Assembly District, we are writing to request a public “town hall” meeting with you to discuss legislation in the Assembly during this important period in Pennsylvania’s history. We are following up on repeated requests for a  town hall made by your constituents in recent weeks.

We request that you hold a town hall during your Memorial Day recess with an open format to allow your constituents to share their concerns in an unfiltered setting. The Memorial Day recess offers a window before the state budget process starts when representatives can meet with constituents in their districts. We would be happy to help with the planning and logistics of this event if necessary. We feel strongly that it is important for us to have an opportunity to discuss your views on pending and past legislation, and for you to understand your constituents’ goals and priorities.

This request is prompted by several of your votes, public statements, and decisions over the past year, including your testimony in favor of reinstating mandatory minimum sentencing in Pennsylvania, your “yes” vote on the 20-week abortion ban, your support for a suite of anti-immigrant, anti-Sanctuary legislation, and your “yes” vote on the so-called “police secrecy bill.” We have serious concerns about these issues, and would like the opportunity to discuss them openly.

We appreciate your timely response and your continued service in the legislature. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Tyler Bickford, Morningside
