North American Summer Camps & Accredited Camping Associations

Attending the June-August summer camps in North America or Europe is a common activity for many families.

There are multiple types of summer camps, including residential (sleepover) camps, day camps, specialized activity camps for sports, language immersion, and academic enrichment camps. Many college and university campuses will host camps in summer using their facilities/resources and as an outreach to the wider community when most college students are not in class.

Summer camp provides a child with the chance to develop character, learn valuable life skills, make new friends, and discover new interests. For older high school students, many summer camps (both day and residential camps) offer leadership and counselor in training programs that provide excellent hands-on leadership experience that is sometimes hard to come by in the Kingdom.

NOTE REGARDING CAMPING ACCREDITATION: National (Canadian and American) state and provincial camping associations adhere to the highest standards of safety, supervision and quality programming as mandated by their association’s standards for operating a summer camp.
