this will have everything you’ll need if you want to get the game and/or the breed files i made. there’s also links to different sites if you want to create/hex your own petz or edit my ones

all the breeds i made are non-overwriting .cat files, they don’t have custom sounds for now, i’m adding more to this doc as time goes on
.pet files are here too, they’re at the very bottom if you need/want those instead
other files like .toy files will be here too below .pet files

where to get petz 4:

Downloads | yabiko - comes with petzA, this makes the game work on newer systems + this site has a couple other useful things you may want

Acidtrip Petz Installers / Mazzlabz Full Game Downloads - these work too if you’re after the other games, petz 5 does have some issues though and 4 is most used

extract/put the game into your documents folder (it won’t work if it’s in program files). you may also need to change your screen resolution if anything becomes funny (personally this only happens when i go to custom areas/desktop so i don’t need to change anything otherwise)
run the game as admin when playing. you don’t have to, but pet aging doesn’t work if you just open the game normally, everything else works fine

RESOURCES

Sherlock Software: Petz and Babyz - this is where you get petzA if you don’t already have it, along with pet workshop and lnz pro. you’ll need these if you want to do any kind of editing for the game (the pet editing manual is also very useful to have for lnz pro)

Petz Utilities - has its own essentially newer+updated petzA (petzA.toy), which is exactly the same but it has a few more features which are listed there (site also has a few other nice things). if you get this version put it into Petz 4/Resource/Toyz and replace any existing PetzA that may be there

Carolyn's Creations - probably the best site to use for tutorials as it has pretty much all you would need when it comes to editing anything. a lot of the tutorials are older but it’s a good starting place to figure out what you’re trying to do
hexingwithsilverfish - youtube channel with some more basic tutorials using pet workshop and lnz pro
Downloads | mh-nexus - HxD (english installable) don’t need this if you’re not editing stuff/going too deep into it, but with a hex editor you can change personality values of a breed, a pets likes+dislikes, toys, etc, etc. if you use a hex editor you will need petzbyte which is from reflet’s yabiko site above or the utilities masterlist below

Personality Discussion + Hexing Cats to be tricksters + Check pet's favorite color/flavor from .pet file! - if you do any hex editing, these are what i mostly use as reference, there’s a lot more you can find as well with a lot of useful info

Petz Wiki - info about the games, tutorials and links to other useful resources
Petz Utilities Masterlist - more links to various resources. i use GoalDescriptorAnalyzer to see specific personality values of adopted pets and petzChecker to see what their likes and dislikes are (V4 doesn’t seem to work for me, but V3 does)

BREED FILES

(some breeds are organised/labelled a little better in lnz pro for easier editing)

If you downloaded anything here before 1st august, then you probably got the first versions of the breed. the only difference between the first version and current version is that the current version doesn’t need that external texture anymore (and the colours should be fixed now lol)

if you still wanted/need the texture for the old versions (although they do work without it): put it into your Petz 4/Resource/Catz folder alongside the other .cat files - friendTex.bmp , otherwise if you’re here on/after 1st august you don’t need to get this

these were my first hexes that were only made for me originally, so they may not be 100% perfect
pink/yellow irises don’t pass on when breeding, if you want you can edit the iris colour back using lnz pro once the baby is grown up
feel free to copy, edit/do whatever alterations, upload/host these files in other places (with credit preferably) etc
if you want help editing anything, have questions or there’s an issue with something you can ask/tell me about it @realtweets009 on twitter or @tweets009 on discord and i shall try my best lol, but these resources should hopefully be helpful for you to figure some stuff out yourself

FRIEND (id:6666)

amalgamate friend, uses the B+W Shorthair as a base, looks relatively normal from his side view and has an interesting back view… hex edited: naughtiness from low -> high, patience+kindness from low -> any. he’s fat and triangle when picked up. Big smile

FRIEND OLD (id: 6667)

the very first one i made but slightly altered, smile is a bit different, going to make the smile more like amalgamates
friend but more normal cat looking, shorter tail, also uses B+W Shorthair as a base, same personality trait changes as above, wasn’t sure what to call it so feel free to rename (i’d rename it before adopting any pets from it though just incase, since i came across a very specific issue but you shouldn’t encounter it) . I’m old!

TENNA (id:2888)

uses Russian Blue as a base, hex edited: naughtiness from any -> low, acrobaticness from any -> 50. he’s a bit larger than the others when fully grown. tv has minor holes at certain angles but it’s easily fixable and his paintballz could maybe do with some edits lol, making a 2.0 version of him soon to have alongside this one

ANT TENNA (id:2688)

also uses Russian Blue as a base, same personality trait changes as above, inspired by toby’s concept art and the fanart and first attempt at extra arms. i did this in not even 5 minutes from just editing tenna so he might not be perfect but you can have your own go at doing it too lol

SPAMTON (id: 1997)

there used to be some petz spamtons but they aren’t publicly available anymore and i wanted to make my own... B+W Shorthair base, hex edited: naughtiness from low -> 100, constitution from high -> 100, metabolism switched to insanity (value still high)
hair is funny at certain angles (he may become a bit bald… lol), not something that can really be fixed since it’s just how the game is (which you will learn if you do your own editing, you can see my failed attempt at fixing it in pet workshop with my addballz mess) he’s Scary. His icon is also scary sorry why does it look like that
not sure if i like him lol, think i spent so long trying to fix him he looks off to me but thought i should put him here anyway

(here is the same spamton file but with an alternate name (id 7991) if you have other spamtons already and cant get the main one, and here is it’s already adopted .pet file just incase)

SWATCHLING (id: 7984)

(not sure if its just me but it takes a while to actually redirect+download lol)

uses Siamese as a base, inspired by/referenced from dib’s swatch (her site has Really really good deltarune breedz too, https://toxoplasicity.neocities.org/petz/breedz), it has 15 colour variations so each time it comes out the adoption center it can be something different!
there’s the normal red, orange, yellow, green and blue, but there’s also a couple more colours, you can always get rid of these extra colours if you don’t want them, or change them/add more lol
hex edited: liveliness from low -> high, confidence from high -> mid, naughtiness from any -> low, patience from low -> high, kindness from low -> mid and nurturing from low -> high. has a bit of a funny front angle and their shoulders become a bit more triangular as they age lol, the ac icon i need to redo at some point because erm it went a bit funny

and thats it for now lol, i’m making more stuff because i find it fun and it’s nice practice… waow…

i was testing out breeding and bred tenna with amalgamate friend. Not sure what to think of this. this is one of many abominations you can create!

here is another baby but with ant and amalgamate… oh…even worse…

amalgamate and swatchling baby though… it might be peak

.PET FILES

these are adopted petz straight out of the adoption center instead of the actual breed, so you won’t need these unless you’re trying to put them into petz 5 for example or do whatever else, this is also assuming you already know a bit about what you’re doing with them lol

google doesn’t like them so you’ll just have to just confirm you want to download them

pipis (ID: 10225) - non-overwriting, made from confetti ball. hex edited:

colour(06): clear(0B) -> blue(05)
pretty(1C) -> edible(0C): 1E -> 2A
round(19): 32 -> 2A

basically just means it can be eaten now, doesn’t have a tastiness value but pets will still eat it regardless but are more likely to carry it around, play with it, etc. explodes into spamton heads when shook too much… custom sound, also first ever toy hex lol crazy to start with confetti ball

jackenstein (ID: 10525 ) - non-overwriting, made from jack-o-lantern. not hex edited so it has all the same values as original jack-o-lantern
