So little time left and so much to do! The year is winding down quickly and the students thoughts will be turning to summer and fun. Please keep your student focused and giving the proper amount of attention to homework and study. Their break will be here soon enough.
Volunteer Appreciation Chapel - Wednesday, May 24, 10:10 A.M.
To all our parents and volunteers, we invite you to attend a special chapel this Wednesday just for you. Every class will give a special presentation dedicated to you. This is a small token of our appreciation for the time, talent and treasure you gave to our students this past year.
Golfland Sunsplash Day - Thursday, May 25th
Let’s close the year with some wild wetness! Thank you for submitting fees promptly - Mrs. Svirida will be ordering the wristbands - entrance to the water park and lunch is included. More details to come.
Field Day - Friday, May 26th
Field Day is back! On Friday, May 26, the school will come together out on the front field to have some fun in the sun! Set up begins at 8:00 A.M., and Mr. Ortiz is looking for some willing parents to help him get the supplies out on the field and set up for the events. Please consider being a part of this exciting event. If you are able and willing to serve in this way, please contact either me or Mr. Ortiz directly at email@example.com.
8th Grade Graduation Ceremony & Dinner - Thursday, June 1st, 7PM in Main Sanctuary
We need 6th & 7th grade students and parents help for the ceremony and dinner. Please contact Mrs. Johnson, if you haven’t done so already, to see how you can help.
Bible (Mr. Ortiz):
This week we will be going through our lesson “The Antichrist”. John 14:1-2 needs to be memorized by Friday. We will also have a quiz Friday.
This week students will learn spelling/vocabulary List 32 with a test on Thursday. In grammar, we will conclude our study of pronouns with a quiz on Thursday and a test on Friday.
Math (Mr. Lane):
This week students will complete lesson 95 on Monday. On Tuesday the students will take a math test. On Wednesday through Friday we will complete lessons 96-98.
Social Studies (Mr. Lane):
We will continue work on chapter 15, A Kingdom from Shore to Shore. We just completely the section on worldview and it may be a good opportunity to discuss with your child what your worldview is, focusing on your views as a Christian, so that they can understand the concept better and have the opportunity to ask you questions. We also read about the Fall and Redemption, another excellent topic to discuss with your child. We will take our chapter test on Friday.
Science (Mrs. Johnson):
We will continue studying our solar system. There is a quiz on 4.5 and 4.6 on Wednesday.
Music (Dr. Muntean):
Students are preparing for “Pomp and Circumstance” for the Eighth Grade Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, June 1st; this event is mandatory participation and will be their Final Grade for Quarter 4 Music.
