2026 Scholarship Application

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on January 16, 1920, at Howard University, Washington, D.C., by five coeds, also known as the “Five Pearls.” They envisioned a sorority that would directly affect positive change, chart a course of action for the 1920s and beyond, raise people’s consciousness, encourage the highest academic achievement standards, and foster greater unity among its members. For 104 years, we have upheld our Founders’ vision, setting ourselves apart as an organization built on the ideals of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood. From our inception, Zeta women have embraced scholarship by encouraging the highest standards in the achievement of academic excellence of our members. Never tiring in our efforts, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is a community-conscious, action-oriented organization dedicated to transforming the lives of others through its signature ZHOPE (Zeta Helping Other People Excel) Program.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has continued its steady climb into the national spotlight with programs designed to demonstrate national and international concern for the human condition. The organization has been innovative as it has chronicled several firsts! It was the first to charter a chapter in Africa, form auxiliary groups, and be constitutionally bound to a fraternity, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. The sorority takes pride in its continued participation in transforming communities through volunteer services from members and auxiliaries. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has chartered hundreds of chapters worldwide and has a membership of 100,000+.

Delta Alpha Kappa Zeta (DAKZ) Chapter services Fort Bend County and West Harris County. The DAKZ Fort Bend graduate chapter was chartered on September 13, 2022, with fifteen charter members under the leadership of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated’s International President and CEO and the “Mighty” Southern Regional Leadership team.

In the spirit of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated’s founding principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood, the Delta Alpha Kappa Zeta Chapter is pleased to announce its 2025 Scholarship Program.

f) A video, at most 90 seconds in length, introducing yourself, explaining why this scholarship is critical to you and your future career path, and why you should be selected. The video is intended for the applicant to showcase their personality and talents in a dynamic way that goes beyond the written essay. Please ensure the video attachment meets the content, length, and technical requirements outlined within the application. The video can be uploaded with the application package or emailed to secondvp@zphibdakz.org as an attachment.

NOTE: These are one-time awards. You can be considered for more than one award; however, you can only receive one scholarship/award. Scholarships/awards can only be applied to Fall and Spring semesters.
