Job Opportunity:
Program Coordinator for Youth Arts Programs
The Village of Arts and Humanities

About The Village of Arts and Humanities
The Village of Arts and Humanities (The Village) is a nationally renowned community arts organization based in North Philadelphia dedicated to neighborhood revitalization through the arts. We value the power of creativity as our most powerful and effective tool for catalyzing healthy and sustainable change. Our legacy is rooted in artist-facilitated community building, beginning with the work of our founders—dancer, choreographer and civil rights activist Arthur Hall (founder of Ile Ife Black Humanitarian Center, predecessor to The Village) and civic practice artist Lily Yeh. Over 30 years, our work has evolved from a focus primarily on arts education and land transformation to a broader and intentional commitment to increasing all residents’ access to tools for creative self-actualization. The Village strives to create a nurturing, energized working environment that taps the creativity of its staff and the neighborhoods to generate programs that are highly supportive, dynamic, and inspiring.

Part-Time, 20 hrs per week

The Village of Arts and Humanities is seeking a Program Coordinator for an innovative youth arts and leadership after-school program in North Philadelphia. The ideal candidate has an interest in: working with youth, arts education, arts administration, team building and mental wellness. The Program Coordinator will support the Senior Programs Manager in coordinating and supervising Creative Impact Studios.

Creative Impact Studios provides high-quality arts experiences to youth who would otherwise have little or no exposure to the arts and appropriate technologies in digital media. We challenge young people to discover and explore their capabilities through the arts, to develop confidence and empathy, and to focus their passion in pursuit of a better future through open courses and internship/apprenticeship opportunities. Students and teachers produce phenomenal artworks that are exhibited quarterly in showcases for more than 500 family members, friends, and Philly art lovers, and at partner venues and events hosted throughout the year.
