Character builders

Use these sites for planning out your builds in the various games:

MugenMonkey - The original and oldest build planner. It isn’t updated anymore and some of the data is rather outdated, but it’s essentially the only resource for crafting builds for Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne.

SoulsPlanner - An up-to-date and more modern build planner. It’s feature-rich and has a very aesthetic and intuitive user interface. This is the site you want to use to plan builds for any of the three Dark Souls games.

Elden Ring

The successor to the Dark Souls Trilogy, with Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin collaborating. It was released on 25 February, 2022 on PS4/PS5, XB1/XSX and Steam.

Demon's Souls 2020

A remake of the 2009 original, by Bluepoint Studios. It was released on 12 November, 2020 as a launch title for the PS5.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

A single-player action game that is technically not a Souls game, but it draws a significant amount of inspiration from them and serves as a successor of sorts to Tenchu. It was released on 22 March, 2019 for PC, PS4 and XB1.

Dark Souls Remastered

An up-scaled and optimized version of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition. It was released on 22 May, 2018 for PC, PS4 and XB1, and 19 October, 2018 for Nintendo Switch.

Dark Souls 3

The third and final entry in the Dark Souls Trilogy. Contains two DLCs, Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City. It was released on 12 April, 2016 for PC, PS4 and XB1.

Bloodborne

A stand-alone Souls game that is considered a cousin to the Dark Souls Trilogy. Contains one DLC, The Old Hunters. It was released on 24 March, 2015 for PS4.

Dark Souls 2

The sequel to the original Dark Souls. Contains three DLCs, Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King and Crown of the Ivory King. The original Dark Souls 2 was released on 11 March, 2014 for PC-DX9, PS3 and XB360. Scholar of the First Sin (which integrates all three DLC into the game) was released on 2 April, 2015 for PC-DX11, PS4 and XB1.

Dark Souls

The spiritual successor to Demon’s Souls, and the first game in what would become the Dark Souls Trilogy. Contains one DLC, Artorias of the Abyss. It was released on 4 October, 2011 for PS3 and XB360, and later ported to PC as the Prepare to Die Edition (which includes the DLC) on 24 August, 2012.

Demon's Souls 2009

The original “Souls” game and Hidetaka Miyazaki’s first creation, it is considered the predecessor to the Dark Souls Trilogy. It was released on 6 October, 2009 in North America, and 25 June, 2010 in Europe for PS3.

King's Field

From Software’s original RPG lineup, it is considered the ancestor to what would become Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls. The first three games were released between 1994 and 1996 for PS1, with the fourth game being released in 2001 for PS2.
