Good morning from a very sunny Kerikeri, paradise central, Bay of Islands.

Our 21 – 28 April Rotary District 9910 conference venue, Norfolk Island, also basks in golden rays, and while currently on Island DG Lindsay & Alison are spending time polishing the programme and making ready for an influx of fun seeking Rotarians.

Registration update:

Registrations for the big bash have been tremendous (currently we have 275 convicted Rotarians)  – but we need more, particularly from those under-represented Auckland Clubs. The Australians are coming from Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland (a big welcome to you guys from D9910)– a truly international conference!

A plea to folk in Auckland – please encourage your friends to register TODAY.

We need sell another 60 or 70 seats on the Auckland – Norfolk (21 April), Norfolk – Auckland (28 April) Air New Zealand charter flight.  If we cannot achieve these sale before 21 January, the charter flight  arrangements will (reasonably so) be cancelled by Air New Zealand and passengers currently listed for the charter will be routed through either Brisbane or Sydney (a more expensive option).

What is the programme?

Attached is the current edition.  Please remember this is still a  work-in-progress and some adjustments should be anticipated. If there is a club or committee that would like to be considered for a small time slot in the business sessions – please make your pitch before 31 January to Keith Day krday@outlook.com

And if display space to promote a project or activity is required in the ‘foyer’ – please tell us your needs before 31 January.  Our floor manager, John Toms - nztoms@xtra.co.nz - is the contact for foyer space.

“Rotary goes Main Street” provides the opportunity for musicians and extroverts to be on stage.  There will be a platform for the performers to do their stuff and a substantial prize for the best Act.  Amateur performer Jenni Wilson is collecting information on performers: manuka@clear.net.nz is where you register to present.

What do we wear on Norfolk?

Smart casual and casual is the short answer – except the Gala Dinner (Wednesday evening) which has a Norfolk attire theme. Please see images below for inspiration:

Misdemeanour fee:

A number of the committed have not paid registration dues. A plea from your conference committee, help the volunteer team  and pay TODAY.  That way we will not use energy chasing and even more chasing for payment.

Conference web site:

The conference web site has recently been up dated. Details of presenters and the (draft) programme may be viewed at www.rotaryconference.co.nz

Best wishes from your  2013 conference Team
