Pollination Patch
I understand and acknowledge that the land I spend my life on the land where I run, I walk, I hike and where I live is stolen land. land that even though i didn't steal myself I still have A right to respect and acknowledge that these are the unceded traditional lands of the esquimalt, songhees and west saanich people's who have been caretakers of this land since time and memorial.
At swan lake our goal is to learn about the environment and land we live on while actually experiencing and protecting it. We will be completing these goals by restoring the land and learning which plants belong and which don't as well as learning how to do our job protecting the land and animals we should be living amongst.
Over the course of the school year at Swan lake I have learned a wide variety of things based on many topics but the one I found most interesting is our work surrounding the very important aspect called pollination.
I learned how important pollination is in terms of the well being of the world by directly spreading plant life therefore removing carbon dioxide and helping our planet. I also learned many other things like the different parts of a flower or how the shape, smell and color of flowers are tailored specifically to a species of pollinator. All of these things and more make Pollination is a very interesting and important topic to learn about.
