Luke 17 and the Church

[20] And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: (The kingdom of God is not a visible kingdom for it is not of this world (system)

[21] Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. (The kingdom of God is neither here nor there for not only is it invisible for it is within you, the rule of God in the inner/inward man)

[22] And he said unto the disciples, The days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it. (The days will come, continued Jesus to say to the disciples, when these would desire to see one of the days of the Son of man (a millennial day of God of 1000 years) but shall not see it by the rejection of the rulers of him as King. This will have to wait, now 2 thousand years. The day these would like to see is the day of his coming to set up his kingdom on earth.)

[23] And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them. (Do not pursue after their ways nor after them who mislead away, for he will not be there)

[24] For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth unto the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day. (In his day the Son of man be as lightning is, visible from one part of heaven way across to the other)

[25] But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation. (The rulers will reject Him and subject him to many sufferings first, before that other happens)

[26] And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. (Noah preached to the people who continued doing their carnal or pleasurable things of the day, not heeding soberly to the things he was telling them, so that they did not know God (see Matthew 24:39), when judgment came)

[27] They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. (The ark was the vehicle of salvation from the judgment of God, as Jesus Christ is salvation,  for he is the only way to God. The day Noe entered the ark salvation was assured)

[28] Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; (In the same vein it is as it was in the day of Lot, when the rest paid no attention while engaging in their unnatural activities)

[29] But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. (For the very same day that Lot left the cities of the plain, Sodom and Gomorrah, these suffered the consequences when the judgment came, of  destruction)

[30] Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (The Son of man will be revealed to his own at the Rapture, on the day of Christ or of Jesus Christ, and at that time when the Church is taken away, as with Lot, judgment will follow immediately by the unleashing of the day of the Lord. The judgement on the Church at the Judgment Seat of Christ is for rewards, not curses)

[31] In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. (In that day, code phrase for the “day of the Lord”, judgments likewise be here and effectual. Thus far God is speaking continuously of a day, in all these specific occasions listed. If that day applies as well the the middle of the Tribulation when Israel is invaded by Antichrist and Jews need to flee away in haste, regardless of whether they are at home or laboring, for trouble is arrived, which is judgment)

[32] Remember Lot's wife. (Lot’s wife took a final look back towards Sodom, and was judged, turned into a pillar of salt. In similitude to Ananias and Sapphira, who intended to keep a foot in the door of the world)

[33] Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. (It is a time of surrender to God, a time to turn all things over to the Lord God, a time not to try to do it on your own by your own power, but turn yourself loose to God, and he will keep you. If one tries to earn salvation by his works he will lose his life in the end but if he turns his life loose, over to God the Son for salvation in Christ one will keep his life to eternity. And in the historical events listed here, the ones who died/lost their lives were not the preserved ones, the passages therefore telling us that they speak spiritually instead)

[34] I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. (Together with v. 35 and 36, it is understood that an attrition rate of 50% be present at this point. And the thread remains by the words ‘in that night’, an expression of time, a certain time when judgment comes)

[35] Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (Women grind meals in early morning)

[36] Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (Men work the fields by mid-morning. These verses suggest conditions around the globe of the earth. Regardless of the place, in the very day when the Lord comes to inaugurate his kingdom, all those that remain will instantly be judged)

[37] And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together. (The ones taken out or taken away are the ones who suffer death, their spirits taken away from their bodies. This will be that which will happen when the millennial kingdom be inaugurated, the ones that do not enter are taken out from the earth, for not being grounded or anchored, when the earth is shaken of God, these will succumb.)
