The GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub supports AC irrigation valves, such as 24VAC. It does not support irrigation valves with latching or pulse solenoids which are usually used with battery operated controllers.
The GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub is not battery operated. In case of power outage no irrigation and lighting programs will be executed. The GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub includes an internal non-volatile memory that stores all your programs and configurations so nothing gets lost. Once your GreenIQ is connected to electricity again, it will boot, upload the latest software and configurations from the GreenIQ Cloud, and will automatically return to normal operation in few moments.
Yes! The GreenIQ web app uploads your programs to the GreenIQ Cloud. All your programs and configurations are stored in the Cloud. When your GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub will reconnect to electricity and the internet, it will automatically fetch all the latest programs and configurations.
You can, but you don't have to. The GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub gets all the necessary weather information from the internet. The unit uses the sensors of the weather station closest to your home. If you wish to use sensors to get even more accurate watering, you can use the Parrot Flower Power, Koubachi sensor and/or Netatmo personal weather station and Rain Gauge. No. The GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub is autonomous. Only internet connection is needed. The configuration of the GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub can be done from almost any internet browsers.
Yes. The GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub can work without constant internet connection, but will not be fully functional. In the lack of internet connection, the system will search for internet connection every 15 minutes. If it fails to regain connection in 12 hours, it will restart and search for new internet connection. Without internet connection, the GreenIQ Smart Garden Hub cannot get up-to-date weather information, sunrise/sunset information and new configurations from the app, however, it will still execute its irrigation and lighting programs. After several hours without internet connection, you'll receive an email alert from the GreenIQ Cloud. The email alerts will be sent daily for up to 7 days.
