A student-teacher workflow using Google Apps, Google Drive, Moodle, Mahara, and MMS (for teachers of grades 9-12)
With so many web tools available, it can be confusing deciding which to use. In these situations, it is helpful to think about what each tool does best, and how it can interface with other tools. With that in mind, we will explore and put to use the following content workflow:
During this course, you will design activities for your students that make use of this workflow. We will also use the process ourselves, to get a feel for the students’ perspective.
An example of this use would be: a class develops an idea for a project, students produce content for their part of the project, students and teacher communicate about the work, students refine the work, students add the final product to their e-portfolio, teacher reports out on students’ achievements.
At the end of the course, you will have designed a workflow to be used in a unit for the upcoming year.
Dates
July 17, 18, and 19, plus six 1-hour follow-up sessions during the fall semester (dates and times to be determined by the participants). Follow-up session may be face-to-face or online.
The last (6th) follow up will be a carousel celebration of each participant's technology project developed during the course. The date for the carousel is December 13th (subject to change)

Each participant will create a tangible student related project at the conclusion of the course that represents new learning and will prepare a 5-10 min. presentation to be presented at the carousel celebration described above.
