Introduktion/Introduction

Acids and bases are widely used in our households and they have a big impact on our environment. We are going to read about the topic, do experiments, and discuss how we have to act in order to contribute to sustainable development.

Syfte/Aim

To use different methods to investigate materials
To classify these based on their properties of acidity and alkalinity
To be aware that the ability of water to dissolve substances is a precondition for life
To discuss the impact of substances on the environment, such as how the emission of various substances leads to acidification of soil and water

Centralt innehåll/Core Content

Water as a solvent and carrier of substances in the ground, plants and the human body. Solutions, deposits, acids, bases and pH values.
Some chemical processes in the ground, air and water from environmental and health perspectives.
Common chemicals in the home and in society, such as cleaning products, cosmetics, paints and fuels, and how they affect health and the environment.
Systematic studies. Formulating simple questions, planning, execution and evaluation.
